• What does Facepunch think about getting a motor scooter for transportation?

I'm 16, get my license in April hopefully, but the problem is money. I can't afford a car right now, and I can't find a job (but I'm waiting on a response from a place I applied at last night). I don't go to school (GED) and if I do get the job, I'm going to need some form of transport. I don't want to bug my mom to drive me, and the only other option is walking which I wouldn't really want to do in the morning, or my uncle letting me use his truck which uses more gas going up a hill then the thing is worth. I was thinking of just taking the money I have now and buying a 50cc scooter. It isn't much, but I don't plan on using it for more then just going to and from work, and possibly going to the store if it's shitty out. So what do you guys think? Is it a good idea to do it, and if so what type of scooter should I get brand wise? I put this in GD and not Fast Threads because Fast Threads seems like it's supposed to just have things with a straight answer.
Go for it.
I'm thinking that facepunch probably doesn't care.
We don't really care. Dammit, you broke my automerge.
What does facepunch thinks about it? heh, I bet facepunch hardly gives a fuck "I put this in GD and not Fast Threads because Fast Threads seems like it's supposed to just have things with a straight answer." you must post this in FT then
What about a bicycle? It would probably be cheaper then a 50cc scooter, unless you'd like something motor powered. Also, how far away is your work?
no one here cares
Buy a used car, safer to drive on the road because it can be seen, and it will not have a 5hp engine on it.
They are a lot of fun when you first get one, but I guess it depends how far away work is.

Also, I have a bike, but it's all uphill getting there, about 10 miles probably. Also, I'd barely have enough for the scooter, let alone a used car. Unless it needs work on it, they aren't exactly cheap.
Why can't you just make a choice without a gamming forum intervention?
As soon as you get it start saving for a car.
Because I don't know how efficient they are and if it would be worth laying down the money to get it?
haha have fun getting called a faggot

If your Italian, and wear a jumper tied around your neck go for it,
Be safe. You'll save a shit-ton on gas though.
Not very practical. As soon as the weather turns sour, you're out of a ride and can't make it to work.
It all depends on what country your in
Some really fat dwarf ork girls ride those near where I live. I drive past them really slow and stare from my nice fast car.
My family owns a scooter, but I dont ride it, kinda embarrassing. I'd get a car for the same reasons mentioned above (Saftey, gas, Weather, ect... )
Scooters are pointless in the US.
Vespa/Undetermined brand of scooter... Fuck yea [editline]7:31P.M.[/editline] You're WAY better off getting a small used car.
Vespa... Fuck yea
dude thats not a vespa
dude thats not a vespa
I just searched Vespa scooters and that was the first thing that came up.
It's a fine vehicle as long as you're not straight.
I have a scooter. Its great, and a lot easier then a car.
Men who ride scooters look just plain silly.
Get a pedal bike instead. Looks less gay.
