Cool that this game is Free 2 Play
But on the other hand this could mean Pay 2 Win..
Ah well it still looks awesome!
Looks amazing.

They could be using the Tribes model.
WW2 Online not being an MMOFPS. Yeah..
Also, I really can't wait for Planetside 2 to come out.

i hate the tribes model. hate it hate it hate it. "pay 2 not grind for 80 years"
TB said in the video one of the microtransactions would be different colored head lights (or that they were thinking about it). if it is purely cosmetic stuff or if leveling / upgrading without boosts is decent then i honestly don't mind. i also seem to remember they'd have a ton of "side grades" for purchase.
Instant buy. Looks goddamn gorgeous and decent gameplay to back it up.
But what's that? It's F2P? Even fucking better. I'd still pay $60 for this.
Oh my god, I've been playing Planetside since it first came out and can't wait for this! It's really came a long way from this:

It's so awesome that I can't handle watching any more of it. Can't fucking wait.
Winner because he killed the CEO of SOE.
This looks fucking awesome. I think I found my new time killer...
jizz everywhere
Holy shit, I've always dreamed of a game with real night combat, where the nights are really dark unlike in a few other games.
It's even better because I loved Planetside 1, can't wait for the Beta to see if it can compare to Planetside 1 in terms of scale and fun.
This looks extremely promising.
Is it true that it supports up to 2000 players?
Hmm, I'm a bit disappointed by the addition of kill cams and the "points pop up when you do anything", but this is still my #1 game I'm looking forward to.
Again and again impressed how far F2P has come since TF2 did it. Not that they were the first, but ever since I've seen it pop up for some pretty big titles again and again.

The original did, yes. If too many people did get into one area they would "lock out" the area and you would go into a queue until it was your turn to spawn. However, the new one is still in Alpha and probably hasnt been tested with many people yet and they have not yet said a real number. There is supposed to be a beta soon (I got a code from a PCG issue).
Hmm, it's starting to look and feel a tad bit like a battlefield type game.
Planetside always had its own feel to it and with kill cams, iron sights points popping up at the top it's losing that feel.
Regardless it's still my #1 game to look forward too.

its not, the devs said it's store is for only cosmetic items.
My PC is not ready

Killcams are going to be removed in E3 demo.
Did Battlefield 3 just have sex with Planetside?
Can't help feeling that the engine looks exactly like frostbite.
Edit: DAMN NINJA'D!
Even the HUD looks Battlefield-y down to the icons for the classes. 'specially the minimap.
[editline]17th May 2012[/editline]
But then again I don't mind at all, I think it's a good thing.
oh my fuck i didn't even know about this
god damn it i wish my computer could run anything more than TF2 on lowest graphics
also terran republic for the fucking win

I really hope they don't do what tribes did. I gave up with tribes because of how long it took to get a decent amount of points together.
Oh god now that you've mentioned it and i'm watching through the video again.
I am seeing some (very small) resemblances to Battlefield.
I'm sure the gameplay will be very different, but still - it looks like it's on Frostbite, the HUD's very similar and they're both class-based games that focus on large scale vehicle and infantry fighting.
Also they use the same in-game fonts and glow and even have the same names and XP for things, such as vehicle destroy assists and whatnot.
*sigh*
Frankly, I'm tired of seeing things that remotely resemble anything from any of the most recent 'Middle East terrorist future soldier warfare' games (Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc...).
(and I really am hoping something better and more original comes along in the next 5 years that will move those out the door)
Ah pfshush, it's not a big deal. As long as the gameplay is massive, fun and unique, who really cares if it's got design elements from a game like that? I think you're making too big of a deal out of it.
Still, I'm really looking forward to it.
Also, for the people who were wondering or suggesting that this would be pay to win, They're instead using a micro transaction system that was likened to the one in Team Fortress 2 IIRC.
Nothing you pay money for will give you an ingame advantage over other people. It's all for customization and aesthetics.
Goodie good great!
