For the life of me I can't find the exact term, but it was a common tactic during the Industrial Revolution to incite racial tensions among workers to keep them from working together, turning a matter of class into a matter of race is one of the easiest ways to not only keep the pressure off you, but give yourself a prime position as the "leader" of whatever tribe you decided to support.

Geek and Sundry isn't a web series, it's a fairly successful multimedia production company, with over 22 series and counting, not including the numerous vloggers they kickstarted into popularity. At this point there are quite a few people who owe their Youtube/Twitch careers to Felicia Day.
