Dunno why, but I feel like as if becoming it's own game made it lose it's charm.

My only worry about this is how they'll sustain themselves. Gmod Tower worked because it was easily accessible and because of donations. This is a one time purchase, with no microtransactions. Either way, good on ya, lads. Glad to be a backer.
Honestly, this sort of game would be best launching as F2P, with the cosmetics being microtransactions. I can see the pay barrier being a bit of an issue with a game thats just a bunch of small minigames and a lobby.

While I like that this actually happened and I realize the dev team kinda hit the end of their rope with what they could do in GMT and have it still function, I don't really know if I'm down with it A lot of the charm from GMT came with it being a Garry's Mod addon/community and it looks kinda sterile without the goofy bits, (ie the HL/CS models and the ported stuff like Liberty Prime, etc,) and almost like Second Life or a free roleplay/lounge web browser thing I dunno, just as someone who loved GMT I'm violently apathetic

They're even reskinning ultimate chimera hunt, supposedly.
I wonder what they'll replace the Pigmasks with. I want my Pigmask Colonel suit back in one form or another, too. same with all of my other items

Andy whipped up some pretty sweet looking concepts for the new characters and I'm honestly super excited to see how those turn out. Not sure if these are up to date as they're from the old Kickstarter, but it gets the idea across. We've been doing GMod Tower as a mod for 5 years now and we really wanted to move off to do something bigger than just a mod. I appreciate the comments and I love hearing feedback. When deciding to move to a standalone project, we had to make some pretty tough choices and face the realization that we'd lose the player models. Losing the player models was obviously something we couldn't avoid, but we hope that in time, through the use of modding and workshop, people could bring that back. However, to imply that the player models were the best part of GMod Tower, would be a bit dramatic as there was much more that made GMod Tower what it was. We have been adding more silly and GMod Tower-esque stuff to Tower Unite lately and we hope that in time, the charm will be more than just copy-written characters. For example, you'll definitely still be able to put pink star glasses on your golf ball in minigolf.

I've never played Gmod Tower, though I remember it getting lots of attention during its creation. But, this game looks like a cross between Second Life, and The Sims.
