Glad to see they learned that the slab design was stupid. The screens seem bigger than the 3ds xl too?
Nice looking system tbh. Not too sure about the price though..
it looks pretty nice
What the 3DS should've been from the start
Didn't reveal during the Direct. Didn't even announce at the fucking investors meeting today.
A Japanese console company making a revision of their design - makes sense, especially considering the library 3DS has and how many people would still like to get on it since it's cheaper. The color choice is pretty bizarre, though.
Nintendo still trying to push that "normal people playing video games in public" angle.
No backfacing camera?
Bought a 2DS back in November for Pokémon. The screens too small and gives me a headache trying to read so this might be a good investment for my games. I got the 2DS Mario kart bundle, would it go on my 2DS if I did a trade-in for it? As long as I linked my Nintendo account probably right?
No backfacing camera?
To be fair, the 3DS camera has always been utter trash, and without the 3D capability it's essentially useless.
so is this the gameboy micro when the was out when putting it side to side with the switch?
No backfacing camera?
I think few people used the cameras tbh I always felt like it was a gimmick [editline]27th April 2017[/editline] 2 people broke my auto fuck
I wonder how long it will be until Nintendo finally drops support for the 3DS. Its been 6 years already
Nice looking system tbh. Not too sure about the price though..
With the 2DS basically being the budget 3ds, I'm surprised they didn't try to do the same with the 2DS XL. This doesn't even feel like another version of the 2DS, it just feels like a whole new 2017 handheld. Should have just called it something other than 2DS XL.
STILL no 2nd circle pad!? God fucking damnit Nintendo, I fucking hate that piece of shit C nub. That gripe aside, I like this. As someone who NEVER uses the 3D functionality, I wish this was out before I got the New 3DS.
Ugh, I wish Nintendo would just drop the 3DS already. They need to go all in on the Switch right now.
so is this the gameboy micro when the was out when putting it side to side with the switch?
Not really, since the Switch can't play the 3DS library while this thing can. The DSi was the DS family's Micro, like how the Wii Mini was the Wii family's Micro. That black and turquoise design is really nice though.
Ugh, I wish Nintendo would just drop the 3DS already. They need to go all in on the Switch right now.
The 3DS is the backup plan in case the Switch flops, though I don't think they'll drop it anytime soon
I'm happy they brought back the clamp design instead of the giant doorstop one. This is what the 2DS should've looked like to begin with.
I'm guessing the "faster processor" means it'll play games like Xenoblade Chronicles? This looks like something I'd actually replace my deteriorating original 3DS with, I never used the cameras or 3d. [editline]27th April 2017[/editline] Wasn't the one-piece thing literally just to use their surplus Wii U screens?
I'm guessing the "faster processor" means it'll play games like Xenoblade Chronicles? This looks like something I'd actually replace my deteriorating original 3DS with, I never used the cameras or 3d.
This is just the regular New 3DS XL on specs and all, just no 3D on it obviously.
Does anyone know the song in this video? I think it's pretty nice
Oh yeah, from http://www.nintendo.com/whatsnew/detail/nintendo-to-launch-new-nintendo-2ds-xl-on-july-28
and will use the same size large screen found on New Nintendo 3DS XL systems [...] still packs the same power as New Nintendo 3DS XL
I guess it makes sense to make it foldable given the size of the screens. Imagine having the slab with screens that size lol
Hmm now wait a minute, 2DS XL has
Widescreen LCD display, capable of displaying approximately 16.77 million colors at 400x240 pixel resolution
while the new 3DS XL is
3D-enabled widescreen LCD (with face-tracking 3D), capable of displaying approximately 16.77 million colors at 800x240 pixels (400 pixels per eye when using 3D feature)
Does that mean the new 3DS XL had higher resolution when in 2D mode or is that 800x240 just trying to make it sound better?
Hmm now wait a minute, 2DS XL has while the new 3DS XL is
it literally explains it to you in the second quote
(400 pixels per eye when using 3D feature)
thought this was gonna be a joke video honestly. but really there has been an audience for this so i'm glad Nintendo finally did something
This is most likely just so that they can push a hardware revision which fixes some flaws in the ARM9 Bootrom, notably Sighax as it allows for the signing of arbitrary NATIVE_FIRM's with a single universal signature due to how poorly they implemented ASN-1 in the (N)3DS/2DS bootrom.
The 3DS is the backup plan in case the Switch flops, though I don't think they'll drop it anytime soon
They can't just keep developing for it forever. As mentioned above, it's been six years. All the good games have come out already. Most of the stuff they showed for it on that recent direct looked pretty forgettable tbh.
