A family in China has been left marooned after they refused to move for a government project. Their house and car have been left in the lurch after government workers started digging around their possessions. The car now sits on a 50ft high column of earth in the mountainous Hanjiagen Village in northern China.
The government project is levelling several hills in the area to pave the way for new homes, but when Qu Liming and his family refused to leave the workers dug round them. Talking to the Chineese press, Mr Liming said; “My son drove his car in front of the house to stop the bulldozers from digging the soil, but unexpectedly, they dug out all the soil around the car, leaving the car perched on top of an isolated island”.
The family cannot move their car and have to climb a vertical cliff to reach their home. Mr Liming added, “Each day we really have to climb into the house, since the soil has been removed, and it’s a vertical cliff for us”.
The project owners and village officials have refused to comment on the situation.
Another fine example of the government caring about his country's people.

Oh China, what will you do next?
Seems like they missed their chance of making China a better place as an effect of the Olympics.
At least when China floods, they'll be safe.
drive the car off the cliff hope it survives put it on youtube don't wear a seatbelt gain donations buy another car
Since it looks like it's an FF it would just go careening nose-first into the dirt if they tried that
God damned stupid fucking chinese

Reminds me of those old cartoons, when something exploded.
Pretty brilliant by the guys who where digging.
They're kings of the hill, they should be happy.
:china:
It's China, are you really THAT surprised?
That's kinda cool though. They can build a rope ladder when everything's done and sell the house for fucktons of money.
The west:
"We don't want to leave"
"Ok I guess we'll take this to court or start a partician or something"
China:
"We don't want to leave"
"You don't have to. WORKERS!"
Where's their house then?
This happened in Michigan, it was pretty funny.

Sauce? I'd like to read about that and laugh too
ahahaha they got owned.
Also i lol'd how they are complaining.
This is amazing. I can really only see this happening in China xD
Heh, I would await that because this was in china, they would get beaten and thrown out after refusing. This is quite nice thing they did .
China isn't all that bad,
It's just that, when shit hits the fan in China, they just kick the shit themselves.
Well played, China.
Surprised china just didn't run over them in a tank.
What's so strange with that? They are digging the soil to build new houses, and I suppose most the the people living there earlier moved out to places the government decided to them.
Then of course there have to be those attention whores that just stays there.
And once again, if this happens in another country you guys would probably react differently.

The government probably didn't provide new housing at all.

You must be stupid if you believe that. They always provide housing, I know it myself since I been there quite a few times. Especially around those poorer areas.
Then I can not say that the housing they provide can be called really called a home. They are like motel rooms, small and nasty.

I'm also wondering, where the house is on the picture.
Well I was wondering the same thing, I lurked around in google, but I couldn't get any other pics.
But I can see why they didn't want to leave. I mean if you've built a house, spent a lot of money, moved in with your family, only to have moved out by a government project.
Sure the government probably offered a nice amount of cash, though most likely it wasn't even near the actual value of the house.

Because wanting to stay in your own house which you paid for and pay tax for and have lived in for most likely a long time and not be shoved out makes you an attention whore.
Ahahaha, that's fucking hilarious. Ridiculous and uncalled for, yes, but still hilarious.
Yes, I don't see any other parking the cars blocking the working vehicles.
Do you think they'll just kick them out? You know after they finish building the houses, they'll be moving back. During the mean time they don't have to pay for anything.
Of course, it's pretty shitty to be forced to move out of your house. But it's not like you won't be having another place to live in.
If the Chinese government really acted like that, why would they even want to build more houses then?

This is the same country that simply evicted thousands of people in order to build the olympic stadium and everything that comes with it.
Evict to where? The streets?
