I'm here to introduce to you what fundamentalists (fundies) have been known to say. It was originally to mean Christian Fundamentalists but these days includes people from other religions (usually Muslims though we do get the odd Hindu, or Jew), racists, conspiracy theorists, homoeopaths, "crystal healer" and other nutty things. FSTDT is a website and Facebook group dedicated to screenshoting and sharing some of the funniest and stupidest comments by fundamentalists. Most of us actually go looking for them and then ask them questions usually resulting in some rather funny responses. Sometimes the responses are so stupid that you just have no way to respond to them, usually the fundie in questions then declares themselves an internet winner because we don't respond to their mind-fuckery.
Sometimes we also find crazy politicians say some nutty stuff that ends up on there too. It's usually a republican....
On to some examples:

Some background on this one, the guy thinks Evolution is a conspiracy by someone, so he created his own theory that he thinks is more credible than Evolution in some sort of attempt at a parody...

As you can see, a lot of stupid stuff there. Most of us are atheists or agnostic, thus we usually find the religious stuff funny and when you see a comment by Kyle Senior, that's me (Yes I know my Profile Picture is bad)
these people live among us
Yea, sometimes it's funny what they say. This time it makes you ashamed to be of the same species
Why do I have to live with these people on my planet.
Well at least I'm not in America.
It's actually quite entertaining when these idiots get absolutely destroyed by someone who knows what they're talking about.
fuck
everything
but seriously i have a few people like this at my school, but they haven't said anything more on it after they said it once on the first day and got totally shamed by everyone else.

That conversation with "Amanda" is so frustrating because she is right on the verge of being right, but then falls completely flat. It's like watching someone figure out how to eat with a fork, but they are using the wrong end.

Amanda is pretty bad. She claims to be a Medical Doctor too :v:
There is a guy called Lodivar, he is worse
Here is a nice video:

Why did those 3 people slam the electron thing so hastily? I found it pretty amusing even if it isn't exactly an 100% accurate representation of atheist arguments, and I can empathize with how some theists would feel the same way towards atheist arguments.

We slammed it because it's fucking retarded. We're not there to promote deluded beliefs
Isn't the way the atheist argues somewhat similar to our arguments against religion? Especially the part about the electron microscope, we say that Christians are begging the question by using the Bible to prove God's existence. While it is fundamentally incorrect, "Daniel Wood" did bring up an accurate representation of atheist arguments without being too stupid in the process, albeit he starts to exaggerate a little near the end.
The point I'm trying to make is that I feel sometimes groups of people immediately put down any argument made by a theist. I personally feel there is no way to completely prove or disprove both religion or creationism, so I somewhat respect both sides of the argument. I do acknowledge that many theists do the same thing towards atheist arguments too though.
Why is everyone making fun of America, most Americans are cool, and there are tons of these people in the UK and France.
Why is everyone making fun of America, most Americans are cool, and there are tons of these people in the UK and France.
The U.S has 157,067,260 active facebook members. The UK, France, Canada, Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands combined have about 110,000,000. There are more americans on facebook than A lot of the other countries combined , so it's only natural there's a higher number of visible idiots.

I can't wait for the latest generations of intelligent, critical and rational people to grow up and succeed all the idiots in politics, commerce and law-making (generally everywhere) all over the world. I'm afraid old habits die hard, but we're on the right path (despite the occasional setbacks). It's only a matter of time until all the nasty little things that have been bogging us as a species down get washed aside and we start shaping our collective future.
It's a rather ironic way of putting it, but... have faith people! Have faith IN the incredible Human and it's ability to tackle everything that's been thrown at it so far.

The sad part is is that we've always been shitty and abusive with power. There will never be enough pure or "good" people in power to make any kind of difference. There will never be a pure or rational race. There will never be enough smart people to overrun the idiots. It's in our nature to take advantage of others and put ourselves on top, regardless of our brother's needs. All we can do is pull together and hope for the best.

I'm not saying atheism is a religion. I'm saying you enjoy throwing your beliefs around in a hilariously stupid fashion similar to overly religious people. To me you are just as bad as the people you mock. It doesn't matter what group you look to you will always find people stroking their egos furiously.

We're hardly as bad as the people we mock. We don't go around using an outdated book to justify discrimination against various minorities. We do this to fight discrimination, stupidity and ignorance, much better values than them
Care to tell me how this is so?

Do you not hear yourself? You sound exactly like someone who is religious. "No you are wrong! Let me tell you why what you believe is stupid and why you should believe what we say!" You are a recruiter. It doesn't matter if you believe in god, a talking hamburger, or aliens. All that matters is you and me are going to die. Nobody has the answer to that including you. The only way people can achieve SOME form of comfort is to form little tribes with their own little beliefs and then proceed to try to recruit and attack to help reinforce those beliefs. If you are truly atheist and logical then you would realize how fucking stupid you sound trying to assert yourself on other people.

You're not leaving any room for argument with such a conceited attitude, not all religious people are like that. It's like saying atheists advocate worshiping the devil and mass murder.
Nope.
As I just said, we mock them because they use their religious beliefs to impact on my life, with their bullshit. I don't care if your religious, I only care when you use it to discriminate/harass/impact on my liberties.
I hear myself, and there is a big fucking difference between to two. It's logical not to take peoples' attacks lying down, you defend yourself, not cower in the corner

As I said, I don't care if you're religious, only what you do with it
I said it at the start, take it to mass debate. If you don't agree with this, then go away

Uh yea, you can disprove creationism, just like you can disprove the acceleration theory and young earth theory. You can't say that because someone believes something you can't disprove it. That isn't how science or intellectual discourse work.
If someone wants to believe in creationism, that's fine with me. I couldn't care less about what other people believe. However, when someone attempts to change curriculum in the classroom to fit their inaccurate view of the world, that is where I have a problem.
both of you shut up
there's a ton of places on FP where you can argue stupid shit
this isnt one of them
