• NHS to fund sperm bank for lesbians: New generation of fatherless families... paid for by YOU
Britain is to get its first NHS-funded national sperm bank to make it easier for lesbian couples and single women to have children. For as little as £300 – less than half the cost of the service at a private clinic – they will be able to search an online database and choose an anonymous donor on the basis of his ethnicity, height, profession and even hobbies. The bank, which is due to open in October, will then send out that donor’s sperm to a clinic of the client’s choice for use in trying for a baby. "Ethnicity [White]" lmao
Oh no! Not fatherless families! ~sarcasm~
this is actually pretty neat imo
What can I get for wanking into a cup for them
Heterosexual couples will also be able to benefit, but the move – funded by the Department of Health – is largely designed to meet the increasing demand from thousands of women who want to start a family without having a relationship with a man. ‘The [demand from] same-sex couples and single women has grown exponentially. It’s become more socially acceptable to say, I haven’t found a guy yet, don’t want to wait for him, still want a child.’ She added: ‘The aim is that we will have enough surplus sperm so that we will be able to set up a service for people like single women and same-sex couples.’
Basically, there is an increased demand for these services because same-sex parents are starting to become more accepted within society. These services can also be used by heterosexual couples. The Daily Mail hears 'same-sex couples' and starts a tirade and heavily implying that the clinic is purely for lesbians couples to have fatherless children. Thank god for the Daily Mail.
Daily Mail should have their new headline "SHIT IS CHANGING AND WE CAN'T ACCEPT IT ANYMORE"
Why is religion on that donor picture, trust the daily mail to ham fist religion into there somewhere
Why is religion on that donor picture, trust the daily mail to ham fist religion into there somewhere
Religion is transferred through your sperm... didn't you know? That's why AIDS was so successful.
Wow what the fuck is this bullshit? Fucking sell the NHS right now how dare these filthy homosexuals want kids, next thing you know it'll be for MUSLIMS!!!!! I like how the Daily Mail author is trying to make this seem like it'd totally only be used to create ~fatherless families~ and totally not also be used for couples who're struggling to conceive without IVF treatments.
This is actually a pretty useful tool for a lot of Lesbian couples.
Daily Mail should have their new headline "SHIT IS CHANGING AND WE CAN'T ACCEPT IT ANYMORE"
The disturbing thing is that this is one of Britain's best selling newspapers, topped only by.. The Sun.
I'm honestly surprised that the daily mail didn't complain they donors couldn't be sorted by religion. Edit: Welp, nevermind. to me. Edit Edit: Bring back bad reading 2014
muh values
The disturbing thing is that this is one of Britain's best selling newspapers, topped only by.. I thought that title was just made up by a gimmick account at first, didn't expect that the article would have that...
I think kids should grow up in a family with a father and a mother. There are tons of studies which bring up the benefits of having a father figure. http://psychcentral.com/news/2008/02/12/active-father-figure-helps-kids/1903.html http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080212095450.htm http://www.happeningsmagazinepa.com/2014/06/18/benefits-present-father-figure/ And then comes the point that most single moms have low income while also not having always time for their kids. It is a pretty selfish act to bring up kids when you can't provide a good environment for kids to grow.
Why is religion on that donor picture, trust the daily mail to ham fist religion into there somewhere
You're more likely to believe in your parents religion than not, regardless if you were raised by them or not. Genetics are a lot more detailed than people think; while they don't carry over thoughts or religious preferences themselves, they do carry over thought patterns and ways of thinking. Identical twins separated at birth when reunited are often found to have read the same books and have the same (or very similar) interests.

My brothers and brother-in-law's done that good

i stand corrected but still it shouldn't really have much bearing on whether or not they can have access to this sperm bank

There are thousands of children in the UK that are looking for a good, adoptive home - but no, why don't we spend money on this instead.
There are thousands of children in the UK that are looking for a good, adoptive home - but no, why don't we spend money on this instead.
um how is that related
There are thousands of children in the UK that are looking for a good, adoptive home - but no, why don't we spend money on this instead.
Because it's a nightmare to qualify for adoption. Compared to just paying for some cum.
There are two things the Daily Fail forgets to point out: 1. It's open to everyone, including lesbians. 2. It's not NHS funded, you need to pay for it out of your own pocket. Quality journalism here, people.
