It seems that when ever I run a search; gold, lara boat, laraboat, i get either nothing, or too long, too short, too common. wtf am i missing here? is it just plain broken or is there a special way to do this?
and also, why the hell do i have to chose an icon for a post, that just makes a mess...
What makes a mess is when you post in the wrong section.

what encourages the mess is when there isn't a clearly labeled section to post this in. although i guess "Fast Threads" could be what you mean based on the 8 point description in light grey on a white background.
so i assume that the search function is unusable and will not be fixed do to what ever other issues the admins who could fix it have?
if you seriously have a problem finding your way around a forum when you're new and you're blaming it on post icons and font colors then you can just leave

not that confusing
i don't have an issue finding my way around the forum and yes, i am new to this forum. my issue was that i was trying to figure out if the person who uploaded lara's boat to garrysmod.org had a post on here as there is a texture missing in it and nobody pays attention to gmod.org once there's more than 5 comments.
the icons i don't like because they create a wall of color which makes it hard to tell what they are at a glance thereby negating their purpose. i get what they are for it's just that you should be able to have an iconless post and there shouldn't be one by default as most posts don't need one and it would cut down on the color spam.
as for my reply to Olas i was being somewhat sarcastic although some of the naming conventions around here really don't help.
you should look at the titles first not the post icons. well at least i do.
