NEW YORK – Foes and supporters of embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner yelled at each other in front of the New York Democrat's district office on Sunday as congressional leaders called on Weiner to resign amid a sexting scandal. "He's not fit to be our congressman," said Jim Scott, 61, one of about two dozen constituents who rallied in front of Weiner's office in the Kew Gardens section of Queens. "People are sick of him, especially his attitude." Weiner said Saturday that instead of resigning over the scandal, he was seeking professional treatment and asking for a leave of absence from Congress. Scott held a sign that said: "Weiner must resign today, today! Rehab tomorrow." Robert Holden of the Juniper Park Civic Association in Queens said Weiner could not be an effective leader with his reputation in tatters. "Our congressman unfortunately has become a laughingstock of the nation," said Holden, 47. "He should resign." Half a dozen Weiner supporters gathered a few yards away. James Sideris held up a sign saying, "Weiner Should Not Quit!" He quickly got into a shouting match with Weiner opponents. College student Olivia Lurrie, 18, said Weiner was a good leader who made a mistake. She argued with Len Santoro, a 40-year-old information technology worker who said it was impossible for anyone to take the congressman seriously now. "It doesn't matter if I agree with him on the issues," Santoro said. "He can't lead." Weiner has acknowledged exchanging messages and photos, ranging from sexually suggestive to explicit, with several women online. The latest to surface appeared Sunday on the gossip website TMZ. The second-ranking House Democrat joined the party leadership Sunday in urging Weiner to quit over the scandal. Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland spoke of Weiner's "bizarre and unacceptable behavior" in texting inappropriate pictures of himself to young women. Hoyer said it would be "extraordinarily difficult" for Weiner to continue to represent his constituents effectively. Weiner's Ninth Congressional District spans parts of Brooklyn and Queens.
SOURCE: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/06/12/ny-constituents-call-for-weiner-to-resign/#ixzz1P6it4X15 This guy must be part crazy to think it was a good idea to send these pictures.
People will protest for a politician doing something completely legal and unrelated to politics, yet congress can get away with passing anything they damn well please and nobody utters a word. Gotta love America.

mm people on the right are eating it up it doesn't change the fact however that there is no inherent hypocrisy in Rep. Weiner's doings, as opposed to people on the right who rally against sexual immorality or homosexuality then get caught doing the exact same thing. i still think weiner's a badass and i absolutely loved that he had the balls to go on TV and in the House and fight for real universal healthcare.
People need to learn how to separate personal behavior from professional performance. This doesn't affect his ability to lead no matter how lewd you think it is... and making a huge deal out of it has a bigger impact than anything else
Who the fuck are you rilez and why are you mod
the bunch of fucking idiots wont protest against gun grabs or making it illegal to run a garden in your backyard, but if they don't approve of their representatives' personal lives there is hell to pay :suicide:
:foxnews:
Thanks for keeping us informed about weiner fox news. What would we do without you fox news

If he doesn't have the ability to stay loyal to his wife then shouldn't we assume he doesn't have the ability to stay loyal to his nation?
Sex has nothing to do with it, he betrayed his own family.
not really
Sex has nothing to do with it, he betrayed his own family.
So did Arnold, people realized it was stupid to care after what, a day? Two? Also
You're an American with USSR as your username don't act like you really care about national loyalty
I don't, I am just a very militant Monogamist. But better safe than sorry.
I don't, I am just a very militant Monogamist. But better safe than sorry.
Well I see no problem with equal rights polygamy, so why should anything like this matter at all? Politics and sex and family is all different.
I don't, I am just a very militant Monogamist
how cute
militant monogamist "wait you have two wives" "yeah" "*click* yeah start moving"
I love how "militant" is used to qualify everything these days I'm militantly anti-militant
more like, militant morongamist! ahahhbbahha
People really need to stop bad-mouthing weiner.
there are republicans who were caught with prostitutes that didn't get this much shit
I want to know how many of them are his constituents and how many are conservatives from other areas coming to make a big fucking deal. Good for this guy, he can do whatever the hell he wants in his personal life. Its his life and he is responsible for what he does, no one else.
there are republicans who were caught with prostitutes that didn't get this much shit
The right is losing all of their support so they're lashing out in an attempt to regain some relevancy
Sex has nothing to do with it, he betrayed his own family.
His wife is sticking with him through all of this, none of this will make it any easier for the two of them [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] And if his wife can accept it, why can't you
"he's betrayed his family, we need to dig up every single dick picture and paste it all over new yorke for the sake of his family!"
I thought that people were actually protesting against some hot dog factory or something because the thread title said "weiner" instead of "Weiner"
