The happiest people in the world apparently reside in northern Europe, according to a 156-nation survey published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Released Monday, the 2013 World Happiness Report ranks the happiest countries around the globe, with Denmark, Norway and Switzerland leading the pack. Among North American countries, Canada took sixth place, while Mexico (16) slightly outranked the U.S. (17).
http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3894041?ir=World
Not much of a surprise that Northern Europe is dominating the list. Gotta love how only Canada and Australia are the only 2 in the top 10 to not be in Europe.
sometimes I think the nordic people are the only ones on the planet that know how to run countries right.
We are number 4. Apparently I'm supposed to be happy now.
I've heard this before, and I think it might have something to do with the size...

85. Portugal Right on the money! Except we don't have it.
Aw yeah! Fuck you, world! We're number one! Line up to suck my happydick, please!
Aw yeah! Fuck you, world! We're number one! Line up to suck my happydick, please!
I'm too depressed and angry, thank you.

I'm sure some of those happy states by themselves could rank really high on the list.

The South is the opposite, it is a complete hell hole of depression and poverty.
We are number 4. Apparently I'm supposed to be happy now.
Same. We do complain alot about everyone and everything though :v:
how is mexico with its near civil war fight against the drug cartels and united arab emirates with its tendency to have foreign workers become essentially slaves and arrest women that are raped due to being raped be on the top 20?
Australia is a pretty happy place Except for the areas that contain people that are heavily racist
Australia is a pretty happy place Except for the areas that contain people that are heavily racist
Pretty sure being racist doesn't exclude you from being happy. As long as you're around other white people.
New Zealand at #13? Huh, feels like everyone here likes this place but me.
What do they measure happiness in? blood alcohol level?
What do they measure happiness in? blood alcohol level?
Only objective measure, yes.
Why are all the happiest countries cold ones?
Why are all the happiest countries cold ones?
'cause being sweaty is much worse than being chilly.
Why are all the happiest countries cold ones?
Fewer people, more resources = more GDP per capita is what I'd guess
'cause being sweaty is much worse than being chilly.
Well it's easier to put on a jacket, than to cool yourself down when it's 43 degrees celsius.
I have been depressed for 5 years while residing the happiest country in the world. Thank god I live here.
