The ruling, or fatwa, has the force of law and appears to go beyond the Islamic State’s previous known utterances on slavery, said Cole Bunzel, a leading IS expert at Princeton University. It sheds new light on how the group is trying to reinterpret centuries-old teachings to justify the rape of women in the swathes of Syria and Iraq it controls. The fatwa was among a huge trove of documents captured by US Special Operations Forces during a raid targeting a top Islamic State official in Syria in May. Among the fatwa’s injunctions are bans on a father and son having sex with the same female slave and the owner of a mother and daughter having sex with both. There are also rules around pregnancy, “joint ownership” and abortions. ISLAMIC STATE’S NEW RULES • “It is not permissable for the owner of a female captive to have intercourse with her until after she has her menstrual cycle and becomes clean.” • “If she is pregnant, he is not allowed to have intercourse with her until after she has given birth.” • “It is not permissable to cause her to abort if she is pregnant.” • “If the owner of a female captive releases her, only he can have intercourse with her and he cannot allow someone else to have intercourse with her.” • “If the owner of a female captive, who has a daughter suitable for intercourse, has sexual relations with the latter, he is not permitted to have intercourse with the mother and she is permanently off-limits to him.” • “The owner of two sisters is not allowed to have intercourse with both of them.” • “If the female captive becomes pregnant by her owner, he cannot sell her and she is released after his death.” • “If two or more individuals are involved in purchasing a female captive, none of them are permitted to have intercourse with her because she is part of a joint ownership.”
http://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/islamic-state-issues-new-ruling-on-sex-slaves/news-story/819d5dab72825b15f50c190bf6727233
Some of those rules sound like some surreal version of the brocode
Progress!
While this is still thoroughly deplorable and the concept of owning humans is repulsive in the extreme, this could be worse. Not much, but still.
Progress!
"Prohibition doesn't work. We need to tax and regulate it." Never thought this would be applied to slavery.
Some of those rules sound like some surreal version of the brocode
That's pretty much what I was thinking too. Man, it's even fucked up that they needed rules to regulate their fucked up practice of owning a woman for sexual purposes. This is just a bunch of miserable bullshit. Click here for the full list of them. I was going to type it all out for convenience, but I couldn't bring myself to repeat what was written there, just felt too creeped out by it. :disgust:
• “The owner of two sisters is not allowed to have intercourse with both of them.”
What? What's the point then? In all seriousness these are pretty weird rules for sex slaves
I wonder if there are any super hardliners in ISIS complaining about how these rules are too progressive and that political correctness has gone too far. (How do you say that in Arabic?)

The articles are sensationalist, they speak of rape and torturing, then you read the rules and though they are sex slaves, these rules make them more a slave wife or a maid in a way. Prostitution or some other crazy stuff isn't allowed, they can't touch other female family members, and need to leave her alone if she is pregnant or has her period. And you also have this, which wasn't mentioned in the article at all:
Some of the brother have commited violations in the matter of the treatment of female slaves. These violations are not permitted by Sharia law... ...it is necessary to clarify some rules pertaining to captured prisoners to avoid any violations in dealing with them: - The owner of female captive should show compassion towards her, be kind to her, not humiliate her, and not assign her work she is unable to perform. - The owner of a female captive should not sell her to an individual whom he knows will treat her badly or do unto her what Allah has forbidden.
Don't get me wrong, God knows what messed up shit is happening in reality, but at least these warnings how to behave are OK.
Don't get me wrong, God knows what messed up shit is happening in reality, but at least these warnings how to behave are OK.
I think on a personal level that's the part that feels the most fucked up. You read some of this shit and go "hm yeah that makes sense" and then the rest of your brain is like "WHAT THE FUCK MAN THIS IS ISIS" and you realize that yeah this is fucking ISIS and you just said something in their sex slave policy made sense. Fuck.
I'm just happy that we finally have rules and regulation when it comes to sex slaves. It's been far too long that the human trafficking industry has had to operate in a legal grey area.

I've never employed maid myself but I don't think I can legally rape them. Like, its great that you can't rape your slave and their mom or sister but I'd say being able to rape either of them is kinda messed up. Perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned.

One would think they can do whatever they want with the slaves, yet on paper they have all these restrictions, not to mention we are talking about ISIS here. But honestly, I don't know how slavery was regulated before, and were there limitations how you should behave towards them.
New
Even the article text says they're at least back from May. This is seriously lazy/sensationalist on the reporter's part.
Butt fucking isn't permitted, RIP anal fanatics.
Even the article text says they're at least back from May. This is seriously lazy/sensationalist on the reporter's part.
Scanned PDF of the rules says 29th of January 2015 even.
Butt fucking isn't permitted, RIP anal fanatics.
You can't even love your slave wife every day of the month like a real man does.
Nobody wants their sword bloodied so they're doing them a favor if anything.
Nobody wants their sword bloodied so they're doing them a favor if anything.
A bloody sword is a beautiful thing, though.
Progress!
Well yeah, didn't most cultures go through the "slavery allowed" phase? Maybe in a few centuries, these guys might have a little bit of good ethics.
Truly a landmark case for ISIS and slaveowners everywhere
I wonder if there are any super hardliners in ISIS complaining about how these rules are too progressive and that political correctness has gone too far. (How do you say that in Arabic?)
And so, ISIS divided into republicans and democrats, and started eating each other until they died, while the whole world watched. That would be fun.
Man, ISIS is more progressive than the GOP
