A town in Norway has installed giant solar mirrors to bring some sunlight into the town in winter.
The mountains surrounding Rjukan put the town in the shade throughout the long Norwegian winter
This is the fucking plot to an episode of Thunderbirds! :v:

I was thinking of the same damn episode. Parker tried to distract the holiday-goers with bingo when the mirrors malfunctioned.
That's pretty awesome.
Reminded me of the giant umbrella in Who Shot Mr. Burns?
Y'know, for a moment I thought this article was late as fuck, seeing how there is another town with a similar problem all the way down in Italy
The glare from that must be a bitch. Also, I figured it would be a complete system for the whole town, not just one spot. :v:
That's kind of surreal looking. It's daytime, but there's a light being shown into town in order to light it up.
I love Thunderbirds.
I've wanted to visit that town in the winter for a while. It looks so surreal and beautiful from the streets.

Us Norwegians could not rip off that plot, because the video is not available in Norway.
Pretty much the entire coast area of Norway
Rjukan is nowhere near the coast, though. It's up in the mountains.
Fuck, they are building an oil powered death ray. Time for a pre-emptive strike
