Randy Blythe, the frontman of US metal band Lamb of God, has been charged over the death of a fan at a concert in Prague in 2010.
The singer is accused of pushing the fan off stage during the show in the Czech Republic, who later died of a head injury.
Blythe was charged with causing bodily harm resulting in death on Friday.
Lamb of God's manager Larry Mazer said the 41-year-old will "fight vigorously" against the charges.
The court in Prague has three months to set a trial date or return the case to prosecutors for further investigation.
The singer faces five to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Blythe has previously said that he intends to go to Prague to defend himself at a trial.
In the statement reported by metal website The PRP, manager Mazer said: "While it is a tragedy that a Lamb of God fan died following a performance by the group, in no way do I feel that Randy did anything improper that led to the young man's injuries and subsequent death."
He continued: "The price of a ticket to a show does not entitle audience members access to a band's stage."
Mazer said he felt Blythe had "responded professionally" to numerous fans rushing the stage.
"We have testimony from the venue operator that acknowledges lax security and an improper barricade being used that evening," he added.
The fan hit his head when he fell to the concrete floor and died of his injuries 14 days later.
Blythe spent five weeks in the custody of Czech authorities before being released on bail in August. He has been in the US since then.
He was arrested when the band flew into Prague to play a gig, apparently unaware that there was an outstanding warrant for the singer's arrest.
Virginia-based Lamb of God, who received Grammy nominations in 2007 and 2011, played at the Download festival at Donington Park in the UK in June.

Didn't this first appear a few months ago?

What does that question even mean?
I thought they dropped the charges on this a while ago?

Sorry, brain fart.
What I meant was that I'm pretty sure him getting charged over this happened a few months ago. Or at least something in that area.

He was first detained and notified that they were looking into him for this in June.
He's been long charged and was in the Prison over the summer but got out and said that if they indict him (Which is currently happening) then he will go without question to accept the charges.
I just saw Lamb of God on Saturday when they came to Detroit. I was originally going to see them this past summer on their tour with Gojira and Dethklok but when he was detained they cancelled the tour. I'm glad I got to see them before this crap started up again.
Wether he's guilty or not, he must be feeling pretty shit about the whole situation.
Why in the hell would you return to Prague to defend yourself for a crime you didn't commit with the chance that you could be put in a foreign prison for ten years?
I saw them a couple of weeks ago in their home town of Richmond Va, that show was sick, one of the best I have been to. I hope the best for him.
Have these guys never seen a metal concert? Pushing somebody off the stage is nothing. The guy could have been completely shitfaced and starting trouble for all we know.
This is all just a very unfortunate accident.
The concert I saw them at was insane. I saw people getting noses broken and teeth knocked out along with plenty of fist fighting. Some people just get a little too drunk and into the music and go crazy. However, when you goto a concert like this, you should expect that if you are anywhere near the front in an open floor venue, it will be dangerous. It's the risk you accept when you buy the ticket.
When you are doing stupid things like jumping on the stage you should expect that you're going to get hurt.

Because he's not running away from his problems like a coward. By returning to Prague and facing it he can actually argue his case like a reasonable person; If he didn't go back, people would assume that he did do something wrong and is hiding from it.
For some reason when I read the title I thought it was about that crazy Japanese (?) belief that if you leave a fan on near you overnight while you sleep that you'll die.
I probably shouldn't browse Facepunch in bed while I'm still waking up.
That's fucking stupid, you're not supposed to storm the stage, if the band doesn't kick you off then a bouncer will, and they won't be as gentle about it. Shit like this happens and it's no one's fault but the person who stormed the stage.
I say it should go under self-defense, but I don't know how that would hold up in Prague.
Either way I hope he gets out okay, I'd fucking hate to see Lamb of God go down over this :(
