(Not sure if this belongs in Love Advice or not...)
She found out today, that her old boyfriend has Mono. He's apparently had it for two to three weeks, and the last time they kissed was eight weeks ago, then they broke up.
I've got two questions here.
First of all, I know the average time from catching Mono to showing symptoms is four to six weeks, if he's had it for two already, and the last time they kissed was eight weeks ago, what are the odds of him giving her Mono, would he have even been contagious?
Second question, anything I can really do to comfort her?
Also, we kissed yesterday...I'm assuming, that if she has Mono, that I may get it as well?

It isn't like mono is life threatening. You get it, and then you get over it.

I have mono right now. It really isn't that bad. You'll just need to take a shitload of biaxin or whatever anti-biotic they give you. (That is, if you get it from her)
See, I don't even know if she has it at this point, there is a chance she doesn't, because the last time they kissed was more then six weeks from two weeks ago...(yes, that makes sense)
Symptons are fever, pharyngitis and swollen lymph nodes.
If she starts having any of these, go to the doctor ASAP.

Well i don't know basically anything about it but if it's already not highly contagious, plus it's been over 6 weeks, i think you're fine...Doesn't sound that bad anyways, fever? Meh.

my sister had mono, she had to lay in bed for 3 weeks. Have fun op.
also i had no idea what mono was until i googled it at saw that it was also called "glandular fever"

I beg to differ. When I had it, I was out of school for 2 months. It just depends on how bad you get it.

There for people who try to figure what it is and what it does.
It's not really contagious, because I had (didn't know it was Mononucleosis at the time) it and we kissed and made out with my girlfriend normally and she didn't get it.
Also this helps the pain:
A cup of Lemon tea where you've added one tablespoon of honey and a squirt of lemon juice. Feels great and takes the pain away for a while.
