So less than 3 weeks remain until the A level results day on the 15th of August and less than 4 weeks for GCSE on the 22nd of August.
Anyone got high hopes, planning to go university, etc?
I'm getting my A2 results this time round and I'm going to be going on to study Civil and Structural Engineering at Liverpool university.
My offer is AAB but I'm predicted A* in maths, A* in 3D design, A in physics and A in AS further maths. I already have a A in AS computing.
AQA core 4 was a bitch this year so don't think I'll get that A*, but fingers crossed!
Good luck to you all and best wishes!
I dropped out of College so I'm not getting anything, fuck the system lol

Actually I'll be getting the results for my GCSE English resit, as I failed it horribly last year and have more than likely done the same this year - ruining my prospects of ever getting a job
I'm quite worried about mine since I made the wrong choices of subject at AS level. I chose Maths (which I dropped out of) and Chemistry (which I failed). That left me with my other two choices of Geography and Computing. Geography I'm okay with, but Computing is such an awkward subject. My class and I have been screwed over by the wonky questions set by OCR, so I'm worried that I'll only have one A2 level to leave with.
I chose to do another AS (History) which I really enjoyed, but coming out with an A2 and an AS isn't really much to show. Maybe I did well enough in my Computing, hopefully. I'll not be at a complete loss, since I can go to tech. It's just that not having a couple of A levels is disappointing.
need B-C-Distinction minimum to get in to business at brighton
i already have my distinction so i need to pray to god that my revision the night before the exam was good enough
I'm actually really worried and I don't even know why, all my coursework, modules etc were great, but for the 3 science exams it was just that. My whole GCSE resting on them.
Doesn't matter what I get actually, because I'm moving and will be doing Scottish Highers instead, which is a little relaxing that I don't have to worry this year.
I'm quite scared, edexcel really ramped up the difficulty of their maths tests this year.
I know I haven't done terribly well in my GCSE's, but I'm hoping I have at least done well enough to get back in to Sixth form at this school.
Expecting an easy A (Optimistically, an A*) in ICT.
Hopefully a B in English and English literature, maybe an A in English.
Dunno how I could manage to fail Drama, if I don't manage to get a pass in that then I've lost all hope. I probably haven't passed history or Moving Image Arts (Film), the rest of my subjects are just...somewhere. I know for sure I'll be doing GCSE maths alongside my A levels because our actual teacher was only in for one bloody week. The whole class wasn't prepared for the exams.
I don't really mind if I don't do terribly well now, as long as I get what I need for sixth form.
Oh, and fuck science basically. I was forced to take BTEC Applied Science and it is the worst subject ever.
I didn't revise nearly enough for any of my GCSE exams. I managed to get As in most of my mock exams though, so hopefully I've managed to wing most of them. I really want A*s in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Business studies was piss easy so I've probably done well in that, I think I'll probably be okay with German and English.
I'm kind of worried about history though, as I did like no revision for it and accidentally made up a battle and mixed up another two battles in paper 2 :v:

AQA have been doing the same. Although I feel they were a little easier then last year, but notably still harder than past years

What topic did you study for Paper 2?
I know a few people that tried to answer every single choice on the paper. To no one's surprise, they ran out of time before they could answer the questions they were meant to.

The American West and Public Health in the 19th century I think

Or medicine through time, I don't remember which paper was which.

If you get 2 A's you can go pretty much anywhere, GCSE's mean jack and especially if you're planning on feeding into your schools sixth form with enough persuasion and talking you'll be fine. Don't worry about it. I got two C's, three D's, one B, one E and one G at GCSE and got into the best college in my area.
The Edexcel Summer C3 paper was stupidly hard.

Thanks! I'm not hoping for the best because i'll surely be crushed, heh. As long as I scrape by I don't really care about my GCSE's, which is probably a bad mindset, but ohwell.

That was my mindset. It led to me getting those results. Luck was what got me into college, and I was too naive to notice that. And so I carried on at college as I went through high school: doing the bare minimum. After nearly a year my attendance and work effort was so poor that they were literally days away from kicking me out, not wanting to face that I signed a form and left.
You need to change that mindset now if you want to do well at college.

You sound a lot like me a couple of years ago, so I thought I better give you the advice that I never got :v:
Ooh, trust me. I'll be focusing as hard as possible on my A levels without choice.
The Edexcel Summer C3 paper was stupidly hard.
yup, I took a look at the UK variant and it was much harder than the international paper which was already hard. What was also very hard was M1, jesus I screwed that up so much.
I work for a university so get to see all your A-Level results 5 days before you do :D
But seriously, if anyone needs guidance on clearing/admissions. Feel free to pm me.
Getting AS results in law, history, government & politics - Law02 was a bastard exam. Even worse now we have to do all A-Level exams at the end of the year in one, rather than modular exams.
Getting Maths GCSE Paper 1 results this August, I calculated the maximum mark I can get equates to a scrapingly low A. Well, here's hoping.

I'm expecting a scrapingly low U.
[editline]26th July 2013[/editline]
Overall, that is. I've completely flunked maths.
Hopefully the government won't change the requirements half way through the academic year, that is how I missed my C and got a D instead.
Had my Maths GCSEs earlier this year, I was never able to take them when I was meant to due to being home education and I'll be focusing on the other ones this year hopefully.
Breezed through both the two hour papers in about 45 minutes each. The only reason I couldn't take it the previous chance I had while at college was because I had been bumped up from pre-gcse to straight gcse maths. So I just spent the rest of the time in the second paper figuring out the square feet capacity of the huge ass sports hall I was in when I was taking it based on how many bricks there were in a certain spot. Something about 5500 Sq/ft I think.
22nd august gettin' dem results
After two years of shitty teachers, one of whom did 20 minute lessons, I'm not expecting much.

Because of ADHD, I get extra time on my exams. That means I have to sit in a seperate, cramped room. A cramped, quiet room with lots of influenza-infected students.
Sitting there while the paper is done is the most drudging thing ever, considering extra time can be up to an hour long. The only thing you can hear is the clock ticking and people sniffing.
The only exam I was even relatively stretched for time wise was English Literature H. I always find myself sitting around for 15 minutes spinning a pen around my fingers.
It was especially bad in ICT, an hour of sitting on my arse staring at the clock.
Sometimes I'm glad we had to do Key Stage 3, if I was doing my GCSE's two years earlier I'd be a complete fuckup.
Took my A Level exams in the Middle-East and - in true Arab tradition - everyone and their bloody uncle turned up late. Exam starts at 3pm sharp? I'm there quarter to, waiting patiently, only to have to sit in the shitting exam hall till 3:30pm cause of all the late arrivers.
The bastard invigilators wouldn't let us people who were on time wait outside or talk or anything. We'd be forced to sit down and shut up whilst we waited for all the inconsiderate asshats. It was pretty bullshit. Another day, the A/C had broken, so we sat in a sweltering room. Made me feel sick and I'd have left the exam early if they'd let me.
