Yo ok basically am I the only one here but "skype" is awkward. I mean like Im used to talking on the phone but skype makes it worse for some reason.I mean like I want to talk to this person but its hard to keep the conversation moving for some odd reason.Anyone got any tips for talking to ppl on skype?

I talk to my friend, who happens to be a girl, a few hours a day at least on skype. Gets hard to keep the conversation going, but few minutes of silence here and there aren't bad. Try doing something other than talking so you're more at ease.
Actually, I find talking on Skype easier than normal converstions, since I'm using my computer, so I can talk about ANYTHiNG.

It's really not that hard. I started talking to Makol and some other dudes on Skype like forever ago. It was kinda weird at first but now we all skype like every night.

We just talk about random shit, make fun of each other, or listen to our friend TheBrokenHobo make the most retarded comments ever.

Yep.
During the summer, I skyped with a girl a lot. Ended up dating her for a little while. It never gets terribly awkward, especially if you're doing something else while you're skyping. The videochat makes it slightly more awkward though, I must admit.

Skype let me talk to this one girl so much we eventually ended up going out. Face to face helps, fo sho. I personally find it more awkward to talk on the phone than on Skype.

I've got this here webcamera built into my monitor, and I've got this nice little microphone, but the only audio I have is through a pair of massive headphones, so I think I would look rather silly. They'd say, "What are those, robot ears? You look like a fucking dork."
I don't think I can handle that sort of criticism, man. It might all be too much. I liked the old days, where we talked with a curly telephone chord kinked around our fingers and with our feet kicked up behind us. Now if I want to talk to somebody I'm expected to get all snazzed up so they don't realize that I'm not actually a suave and sophisticated man, dark and mysterious in many different ways.
Skype isn't awkward. It gets frustrating if your talking in a "conferance chat" with about 6 people in it. I don't get it are you saying it's awkward to talk to girls on skype, if so why?
Skype is clearer than a telephone, is free and you can do alsort s of things with it.

I really only like conversations in person. I have to be able to actually make eye contact with who I'm talking to, and that's really difficult and odd over webcams.
I like plain text conversations (text messaging/IMing), but sometimes what I'm trying to say gets lost in the process. I talk with my hands and body and eyes and face and tone. So text sometimes just doesn't cut it.
Phone is just boring. I can hear them, but I can't see them.
