-UPDATE-
(CNN) -- Multiple people were stabbed Tuesday morning at a Houston-area college, CNN affiliates reported -- an incident that has prompted the school to urge students to take shelter. At least 12 people and as many as 14 have been injured in the incident at Lone Star College's CyFair campus in Cypress, according to CNN affiliates KHOU, KTRK and KPRC, who are citing authorities. Authorities have detained one suspect, and another might be at large, the school said in a statement.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/09/justice/texas-college-stabbing/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
Harris County sheriff's deputies said at least one person was wounded and a suspect was in custody after a stabbing at the Cy-Fair campus of Lone Star College Tuesday afternoon. Another suspect may be at large, officials said. Officials said it is unclear if other victims have been wounded or what led to the stabbing at the campus at 9191 Barker Cypress. However, unconfirmed initial reports indicate as many as 13 people may have been injured.
http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Suspect-detained-in-Lone-Star-College-campus-4420907.php I've heard conflicting reports on the number of people stabbed. I've heard anywhere from 5-8 on Fox, Chron says at least 1, but may be 13 injured, so it's unclear at this time. I go to LSC-Montgomery. I got a phone call from Lonestar about 30 minutes ago telling me to stay inside. But I'm at home guys.
Oh jesus, hoping they make it out okay
A suspect may still be at large.
Heh, i always said that when you take guns away, murderers and criminals will move on to knifes... This guy is ahead of the game
Quick! Ban really big assault knives! Think of the children! (User was banned for this post ("Dumb snipe" - MaxOfS2D))
Heh, i always said that when you take guns away, murderers and criminals will move on to knifes... This guy is ahead of the game
Well at least no one died.
Well at least no one died.
14 stabbed, 12 went to hospital, some in critical condition. [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] There may have only been one suspect.
-snip-
And cue the inevitable 'look banning guns doesn't stop violence' remarks. Never mind that so far, nobody has died, as opposed to all the people killed in shootouts, but whatever, let's have another tired, pointless debate.
Heh, i always said that when you take guns away, murderers and criminals will move on to knifes... This guy is ahead of the game
This is one of the many reasons why your post is dumb.
And of course someone brings up gun control
Heh, i always said that when you take guns away, murderers and criminals will move on to knifes... This guy is ahead of the game
Not even related
And of course someone brings up gun control
Why is it surprising, it probably what a lot of people were thinking when they saw the thread.
Sounds like the suspect ran down the hall with the knife out (presumably a box cutter or scalpel) and sliced people as he ran. Then a student tackled him and police took him into custody.
Why is it surprising, it probably what a lot of people were thinking when they saw the thread.
It's not suprising. It's just that it's dumb to bring it up.
Sounds like the suspect ran down the hall with the knife out (presumably a box cutter or scalpel) and sliced people as he ran. Then a student tackled him and police took him into custody.
That must have looked hilarious.
inb4 plastic spoons, forks, knives & knife-like foods are banned, and punishable for possession. (User was banned for this post ("Meme reply - ban history" - Craptasket))
I used to carry a scalpel everyday to class for bio so I'm willing to bet it was likely one of them.
That must have looked hilarious.
Uhhh you have an odd sense of humor
Uh what? Both of those knives he mentioned are insanely sharp and can do substantial damage. How is that funny?
Obviously the fact people got sliced isn't funny.
That must have looked hilarious.
Seeing people get sliced open with a razor blade by a crazy guy that's coming at you that's hilarious.

But their current plans for regulation is doing nothing but hampering the millions of responsible gun owners. And they're banning specific guns simply because of their appearance. Also magazine caps are a joke, I believe that Korean fellow had many ten round magazines. Also, Also taxes or yearly licences or registries aren't going to stop thugs with black market boomsticks. Edit: By regulation I mean stricter background checks, straw sale laws ect ect...
ban high-capacity assault knives
Thomas added that a student subdued the suspect, wrestling him to the ground. Deputies indicate 11 were injured. However, Capt. Robert Rasa of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department said 12 people were rushed to area hospitals after the stabbings while two others refused treatment. Of those taken to hospitals, Rasa said, four people were flown by LifeFlight medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. They were in critical condition. Rasa added that two others were also taken to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. Their conditions were not known but Rasa said they were not critically wounded. The other hospitalized victims had minor injuries and were taken to North Cypress hospital, Rasa added. Gilliland said investigators are trying to determine what sparked the stabbings, but they appear to be random. No weapon has been found and initial reports indicate the suspect may have used a knife or pencil.
A pencil? [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] Reports still seem to be conflicting, so I'm not going to update until we're sure whats happening. The basic facts are these: 14 stabbed or otherwise wounded. 11-12 went to hospital 4 in critical condition.
Clearly banning firearms will make violent assaults go away in no time!
"omg guys stop debating gun control in these mass shooting threads omg go take it to Mass Debate so we don't have to deal with it" ect ect
"omg guys stop debating gun control in these mass shooting threads omg go take it to Mass Debate so we don't have to deal with it" ect ect
What?
What?
In every spree-shooting thread the facepunch pro-gun lobby always threw a fit when people 'tried to bring guns into it'. Saying people should use the defunct Mass Debate section so they don't have to see it every time. Its just amusing hypocrisy.
