Thank you based Razer for yet again providing us with the tools necessary to save PC gaming.
a .3 difference wow!
I'll stick with my Model M, thanks.
a .3 difference wow!
Which is about 14%. They say an additional 60 million keystrokes in life too, which is nice. I feel like they could have summed that up in a couple of sentences without the silly promo video though
I hate all this 'gamer' shit.
I actually own a Razer mechanical keyboard... [sp]It's an overpriced piece of junk yo[/sp] [sp]Okay, not a piece of junk, but definitely over priced[/sp]
I just killed my old Blackwidow a few months ago. I really did love that thing, it was worth the 80$ some odd I spent on it for sure. This, depending on the price would be a decent replacement
I've been using the same keyboard since I got my first computer in 2003. I would be using the same mouse, too, but my wireless receiver doesn't work for it anymore. Personally I think that if you spend any more than $40 on basic peripherals like a mouse and keyboard, you should find the nearest bottle of bleach and consume it.
Funny thing is, Razor is the last company that comes to mind when I think of quality. The switches may last but the entire thing would snap in half I bet. Corsair though, their keyboards are built like tanks. My K90 is a solid slab of aluminium for goodness sake.

Daskeyboard,Corsair,Filco,Ducky, and Cooler Master for mechanical keyboards And hell the Razer Deathadder is a pretty fantastic gaming mouse for it's price in my opinion I have the 2013 Deathadder and I've been using it for atleast 2 years now and it still holds up just fine. If not Razer than Logitech makes pretty great gaming mice as well.
Coolermaster has been making some gret mechanical keyboards as well.
The guys in the LAN party group I chill out with have a few mechanical keyboards. One of them has a <2003 old ass keyboard, two have those Das keyboards, and one guy has razor's other mechanical keyboards. They all feel super nice to type on, even the razor one, surprisingly. This keyboard in the video looks like one of those keyboards that would be nice to have if you somehow didn't have to spend money on it, like if you got it as a gift. It's pretty ugly, though. Green and black is puke.

Because you're an asshole.
Just order a newly manufactured model M from unicomp, it'll probably be cheaper.
Coolermaster has been making some gret mechanical keyboards as well.
This, but the drivers are shit, and I think there's something wrong with my keyboard. If I tap it hard enough, it just freaks out and disconnects from my comp and flashes the lights. Then comes back after 10 seconds. Also massive power draw for no reason.

My Blackwidow Ultimate is a solid, 8 pound brick - no give or flex to it whatsoever. I've never once had an issue with durability.

I cheaped out when putting together my computer. Went with the $15 Logitech combo pack that had a mouse and a keyboard. Have yet to have a problem, both serve all my needs, and I didn't pay out the butt for them.
dudes reading the art of war, lol
a mechanical keyboard with ABS keys so that LED's can be pretty is retarded Razor is also pretty pretentious. I'm happy with my Ducky yellow edition. Blank keys, PBT plastic, nice LED's. I also use a gamepad, and it actually feels good that it is membrane. I mean, I REALLY WISH it was cherry MX, but for a membrane pad, it's really nice. the idea of a gaming keyboard is retarded, just get a gamepad, it's way better IF YOU CAN GET IT. Keyboards are made to type.
Mechanical keyboards are annoying When I skype with friends that have them all you can hear 2/3 of the time is the sound from them.
Personally, I think that if you tell other people how to spend their money, you should find the nearest bottle of bleach and consume it. Because you're an asshole.
Yes, because spending $100+ on a keyboard with ergonomics you can get from a keyboard that's 80% cheaper makes a whole lot of sense. If you guys quit smashing on your keyboards when you die in a video game you probably wouldn't have to own 8lb $100 metal keyboards.

Granted you don't need to spend a ton on one. Just if you want backlighting or some style to it.

Seriously. Think about what you're saying. You're saying that, if people want to spend money that they've earned on a keyboard, they should KILL THEMSELVES. Everything about that literally screams sociopath.
Mechanical keyboards are annoying When I skype with friends that have them all you can hear 2/3 of the time is the sound from them.
Have you ever typed on them? They are FAR BETTER than membrane by a huge amount
Keyboards are probably the most versatile user interface device ever conceived. ESPECIALLY with macros involved.
Yes, because spending $100+ on a keyboard with ergonomics you can get from a keyboard that's 80% cheaper makes a whole lot of sense. If you type a LOT, get one. I spent 150$ and only planned on spending 100$, I literally will NEVER look back. I love my cherry blues, even with all that sound. if you don't care that much about typing, it would be very silly to spend money on one. People get mechanical because membrane keyboards are shit, no matter how "well made" they are.

I've got a good mechanical keyboard here which will probably outlast my current rig, and while it's got some macro keys on it, I never really use them. I really wouldn't be able to justify something that's literally entirely macro keys. If I were looking at one, though, what's your preferred model?

It's really wonderful to own, and even though it's ABS the shining doesn't seem so bad. I refuse to get a razor but they are mechanical so, yeah. even if you don't game, the g13 will be good for you, the macro's make it super useful. In games, I actually very rarely use macro's, unless maybe for duck jump (ctrl+space is way easier in 1 button in hl2, its great) I also like to bind sprint to forwards, so mode 1 is run, mode 2 is sprint
Because every mechanical keyboard owner totally purchased theirs since they always smash their regular keyboard to bits in a fit of rage :v:
Let's not ridicule him too harshly. He's probably some stupid kid that doesn't know his place, and wants everyone to hear his flawed opinion. Best to just ignore a person like that. It's a very smooth, tactile switch. Perhaps not as good as a Ducky Red or something, but it's a lot chunkier than a membrane of any sort. Maybe I'll look into their keypad. It's hard to go back to something that doesn't click quite so loudly. Might even let me switch entirely over to the Apple keyboard, if I can use it as a numpad. (Fun fact, those are also technically mechanical. They've got metal scissor switches, which are more akin to mechanical switches than membrane contacts.)
