Barack Obama is a “war criminal” and a “hypocrite,” an Irish politician has said in a damning attack on the US president. The MP slammed the Irish treatment of Obama during his G8 visit as akin to ‘prostituting’ Ireland for a “pat on the head.” Irish MP Clare Daly took no prisoners in her heated attack on the visit of the Obama family to Ireland during this year’s G8 summit, which was held in the five-star resort of Lough Erne, Northern Ireland. During a session of the Irish parliament last Tuesday, Daly slammed media coverage of the visit as tantamount to "a nation of pimps, prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head." “It’s hard to know which is worse, whether it’s the outpourings of the Obamas themselves, or the sycophantic fawning over them by sections of the media and the political establishment,” said Daly, saying that the Irish nation had been subjected to“unprecedented slobbering” over the presidential family. Rounding on the president, she condemned his speech to children in Northern Ireland about the peace process as the “biggest irony of all.” Citing Obama’s decision to supply the Syrian opposition with arms, she asked: “Is person going for the hypocrite of the century award?” “By any serious examination this man is a war criminal,” said Daly, accusing the Obama administration of purposely stalling the Geneva talks by increasing their backing for the Syrian opposition and undermining secularism in the region as a whole. She called on the Irish government to take steps to “ensure no weapons go through Shannon [Airport] to Syria in breach of the international laws”
http://rt.com/news/irish-politicians-tyrade-obamas-238/
Well, the 'hypocrite' thing is true, but it also describes most American politicians anyways.
He can definitely be a hypocrite, but I think war criminal is a bit much George Bush on the other hand...
The MP slammed the Irish treatment of Obama during his G8 visit as akin to ‘prostituting’ Ireland for a “pat on the head.”
I like his attitude.
I believe him he's more hip to true politics than I am
This is the same Irish MP who used public funds to pay for personal travel and, as far as personal behavior goes, urges citizens not to pay taxes and has been arrested for deliberately violating court orders. And she's calling Obama a hypocrite and a criminal. Irony!
Well, the 'hypocrite' thing is true, but it also describes most American politicians anyways.
Describes most politicians. Corruption isn't exactly something that is unique with America. Pretty much all countries face it.

Takes one to know one?
That doesn't change the fact what she said about Obama is true.
There's a saying about people who live in glass houses. At the very least she isn't really in a position to be criticizing Obama without being a massive hypocrite considering her own sordid past.
Well, the 'hypocrite' thing is true, but it also describes most American politicians anyways.
That's not a justification.
fuck obama
She's nuts.

Obama came in after Bush, he exploited that to the fullest by trying to look like the complete opposite and promising way too much. When it came to reality, he's another politician like many. He's a hypocrite, a liar and a war criminal, but so were almost all presidents, else they probably wouldn't be presidents. The problem was people really thought he'd somehow come in and change politics forever, which was an unrealistic expectation at best.
Doesn't invalidate the truthfulness of what they are saying here.
It's still hypocritical for her to say the things she said. But hell, Obama is still pretty terrible.
But it's true.
Obama travels all the time with our tax money though.
so did every other president
Yes she is a hypocrite, but that doesn't negate her argument. Do you guys even ad hominem fallacy?
I like his attitude.
*her
so did every other president
yeah but obama's half-black so he's half a criminal, duh
Yes she is a hypocrite, but that doesn't negate her argument. Do you guys even ad hominem fallacy?
Considering the entire article is basically just her making ad hominem personal attacks at Obama, I'm not seeing an argument that remains once her hypocritical remarks are peeled away.
Hey, hey, he may be murdering people with drones, but Bush is the real American war criminal of the century. Obama didn't order people tortured and lie us into a war that killed a hundred thousand innocent people.

So when did Facepunch go from pro-Obama to anti-Obama?
I'm not Republican or Dumbocrap, but I'm going to say what Republicans said in 2009. "We told you so."
So when did Facepunch go from pro-Obama to anti-Obama?
something to do with the Assange/Snowden case, drone strikes and that stuff i guess
I'm not Republican or Dumbocrap, but I'm going to say what Republicans said in 2009. "We told you so."
What, we told you that gay marriage and weed would lead to a 1000 years of darkness? I highly doubt Mcain or Romney would have reduced drone attacks and the like.
