Just released my first album with vox. I tried to catch all emotions and things that struck me the most this year (death of a relative, a breakup, depressions etc.) and put them into song form. Please check it out. Thank you and enjoy! Caynug is a one man band by me. The recordings all happened in my own home studio (my room more likely). My goal with music is to always transfer real emotions and feelings into music form and to catch these instrumentally and vocally. There is really everything in there emotionally that you can think off, death of a relative, a failed relationship, depressions and simple melancholic feelings. I hope you guys find the time to check it out, this has been such a long journey for me. Nobody? :(
Like I said earlier to you, I feel like you put a ton of effort into this, and it really shows. The only thing that kind of bothers me throughout the album is your vocals, where you moan before you hit a note. I know that's a bit of a preference, but I feel like some sort of "pseudo emotion" effect to me. Anyways, great work here!
I listened to the Empty Husk track, I really like the acoustic guitar on it. What type of microphone did you use to record the acoustic guitar?
I think someone said it in another thread, but i think i hear a lot of Koi No Yokan influence good stuff
Thank you man. Funny thing is that I never heard Koi No Yokan by Deftones before, the first time I listened to it for more than 10 seconds was yesterday!

One thing that annoys me though, do you have some kind of stereo separator in your master chain? It's making a lot of phasing issues and they kinda hurt my ear.

Also I dont have any weird effect going on.. the guitars are left and right, the drums normal like drums should be and the vox just have some flanger effect that widens the vox more stereo alike but that's nothing weird :o I dont exactly get what you mean with phasing issues.
Yeah I listened to it some more and it's definitely the vocals. It's a bit much IMO.

Thank you!
I like to throw a good (stereo) reverb or stereo delay on vocal tracks to make them less mono/narrow, or even better, double-track them, and pan them 20/20-ish.

The flanger is just a thing that in my opinion fits at what I am aiming for, I tried to hear the issues with headphones, monitors and other equipment but it all sounds normal to me, different but normal.
I am really considering you to get a record deal.
I still dig I Found My Way.
I am really considering you to get a record deal.
But how would I go at that? I tried contacting subliminal groove records but they did not answer me months ago, sadly. Got any ideas? [editline]6th February 2014[/editline]
I still dig I Found My Way.
Thank you man, I have many more songs like that. Will release them in an EP at some point later. Sometimes the track style just differs to much so quite a few songs get overlooked but I am glad that you saw that track and like it
