I've only got a few, I'll rank them. 1. Reservoir Dogs (watched it for the first time on this, will never forget it) 2. Planet Terror 3. Napoleon Dynamite 4. Sin City 5. Avatar (Came with the player, no special features, not-that-special movie) Any others I should get?
Watchmen. Beautiful movie.
My first Blu-Ray. I loved this movie ever since I first saw it back in 2005. I went to the theater 13 times to see it. I recommend you get this one, it is one amazing Blu-Ray.
If you're a nerd like the rest of us, get the Lord of the Rings trilogy box set. The special features come on a regular DVD though, just a warning.

You have NO IDEA how great that looks in 1080p, it's the first BluRay that I thought was actually worth the purchase extra money for the BluRay version (although it was the same price as the DVD version where I got it.)

Why haven't I gotten that yet?

Old school effects equivalent of sex, Dykstra and Trumbull on the same project. (Star Wars and 2001, respectively) 11/10 image and sound quality. Word on the street is this is better than you could have seen it in a theather when it came out.
Watchmen. Beautiful movie.
Watchmen was good the first time I watched it. Read the comics, watched it again. Piece of shit. [editline]11:18PM[/editline] I'm getting King Kong and T2 so far. Perhaps LOTR because it's one of the best trilogies ever.
Fight Club
Public enemies, the shootouts are so fucking amazing and realistic. especially in HD
The Dark Knight is a great movie and looks absolutely fantastic in HD.
Perhaps LOTR because it's one of the best trilogies ever.
I haven't actually seen it, but the quality shouldn't be that greater on the blu-ray than on the dvd. DVD: Blu-Ray:

It depends entirely on the tv. If you had a 1080p 50" lcd screen... You would be silenced by the clarity. :colbert:

That's idiocy on it's highest level. A lot of old movies were "recorded" at higher quality than a lot of stuff today. Heck, with the "digital revolution" cinema almost turned into TV resolution. And if it's a 70mm or IMAX film, there's simply no comparing it with anything. The only thing that rivals 70mil is 70mil. There's only one 70mm film coming out in the forseeable future. And it's a documentary.

Was it shot on 16mm or something?
Comes out in a month
Oh snap. Gotta dig into the ol' wallet then. :'(
Was it shot on 16mm or something?
Basically some movies look better on blu ray compared to dvd than others do.

I saw that on TV and have been looking for it since, didn't know the name. Just to clarify, is that about the dude that snap and goes to see his daugter and beats up gangsters and meets the Elitist gun store owner?
Wasn't Predator a pretty good Blu-ray?
Comes out in a month
HOOOOOOLY FUCK! I need to get that.
lol yeah. But buying old movies as bluray is a waste of time. They were recorded small. Lotr was not.
35mm film (used since 1892) has a maximum comparative 1400 lines of resolution, higher than 1080p. Source So even old movies will look better on Blu-Ray if they do shit right. Of course, if the studio has lost the film and has to upconvert an already-digitized version it's going to look like shit.

It's just amazing.
Watchmen. Beautiful movie.
I definatly agree with this one, the visual effects in the movie look orgasmic on a blu ray.
HOLYSHIT! Can it be? I saw that on TV and have been looking for it since, didn't know the name. Back Door Sluts 9, but really any of your favorite movies.
