A female Queensland teacher has been jailed over a lengthy sexual relationships with a 14-year-old special needs student, which she began to help her get over a break-up.
The then 23-year-old special education teacher invited the autistic student to her home in 2011 and seduced him after the breakdown of her seven-year relationship left her lonely and depressed, the Brisbane District Court was told on Thursday.
Judge Paul Smith sentenced her to six-and-a-half years' jail, to be eligible for parole in 18 months.
Perhaps its the autism but whenever a female teacher has sex with a teenage boy we usually see some pretty ridiculously light sentencing.
Being banned from teaching and 6 years is pretty surprising.
Theres never enough information in these articles.
I would love to know how they found out about this? Did she confess? Did the boy say something? Did other teachers or students notice a change or something going on? Was it a neighbour? How emotionally scared was the teacher? Did the boy look a bit like her ex?

Yeah, they usually hand out suspended sentences for this kind of shit.

Well, she should seek help if anything. Still pretty damn fucked up though.

Well, the kid being special needs and all, i don't think it's surprising.
If it was a regular 14 year old though, the sentence would've most likely been lighter.
This is so fucked up. But I'm calling it now: Something is going to post the obligatory "wish that was me" in this thread, I'm sure of it.
Wish that was me.

what? and have the rest of your love life be a little traumatic to a degree?
For any kid younger than 15-16 its just fucked to have a sexual relationship with a teacher or anyone much older than you.

It was a joke, man. I feel bad for him.

:snip: oops, misread nvm.
wheres the picture of the teacher tho
hopefully she wasnt ugly
I don't remember the age of consent over there, but the teacher had sex with a 14 year old. I don't think being autistic had anything to do with it. I'm amazed that it was 6 years in jail and banned from teaching then, say, 10 or 13 years.
If this were a man, the sentencing would have been different.

Oh boy here we go
The first comment isnt wrong tho. Just because it is obvious and its said every time something like this happens doesnt make it less of an issue
I have no issues with teachers having sexual intercourse with students in age of consent or atleast when they've reached the age of 18. But the school and it's board should still have the right to fire it's personnel over these circumstances due to lack of professionalism and school reputation.

this teacher got a pretty harsh sentence though. it'd make sense saying that if she'd gotten off scot free but what's the point of saying it here other than trying to stir shit up

are you kidding me it was a dream to fuck some of my teachers :v:
there certainly would have been no trauma.
I'm not trying to start anything by asking this, because I genuinely do not know - but why aren't women ever labelled as pedophiles?

because sex is a bigger violation of personal space if you're a woman so the victim/perpetrator roles are reduced in perceived magnitude

In my opinion if you are having sex with a current student of yours it can lead to an unfair advantage of said student in terms of grades. Like if you are having sex with someone you are definitely not going to give them an F on anything because you have ulterior motives alongside just the teaching one. If the student is over the age of consent and is not being taught by the teacher though, I don't see a problem with it if there is consent on both sides.

Are you saying when a woman is violated she's "more" violated than a man?

Who cares what his opinion is? You're not going to change it nor will he change yours. This is the internet, not Parliament.
Read, snigger and move on because this rape debate is going nowhere good.

Doesn't really excuse statutory rape.

Its these kind of sexist attitudes perpetuated by feminism and tradition that make this an issue. Not to mention all of the men with the teacher fetish that think sexual abuse is ok since "guys like that stuff"
Are you saying when a woman is violated she's "more" violated than a man?
assuming conventional PIV sex, yes, of course I am. Why is that unreasonable?
That's literally the explanation. That is one reason why people take female-perpetrated sex crimes less seriously. I'm not saying that they are excusable or more reasonable.
before anyone starts a shitstorm, it's obvious sector 7 is talking about societal norms regarding gender and the way people's perception of events is conditioned by them, and not that that's the way things should be
Its these kind of sexist attitudes perpetuated by feminism
This is exactly what feminism is against. Sector 7 is saying that's what the current societal norm is. Feminism is trying to change that.

I really don't want to debate this, it was just a question.

You're both wrong and right, consider that for a while.
