PARIS – A teenager armed with a machete slashed a Jewish teacher in southern France on Monday, invoking the Islamic State group and saying he had also planned to go after police, a French prosecutor said.
The 15-year-old Turkish Kurd was arrested soon after wordlessly attacking the teacher, who was injured in the outdoor attack in central Marseille, said Brice Robin, the Marseille prosecutor. The teen invoked Allah and the extremist group only after he was detained, saying “the Muslims of France dishonour Islam and the French army protects Jews.”
He attacked the teacher first from behind, slashing him in the shoulder, and then went after the man again as he tried to run away, Robin said.
The knife attack comes just days after a man armed with a butcher knife was shot to death after authorities said he went after police in central Paris. That man’s identity has not yet been confirmed but German authorities say he had lived at a shelter for asylum-seekers in the western city of Recklinghausen.
And he's a Kurd? Hopefully we don't see too much of an increase in these types of attacks.
A Kurd? Well, he's even more of a nutjob than the usual ones, I suppose.
Invokes ISIS? What is this, like when you invoke a demon and it appears, but instead ISIS appears?

Turn off the lights in the bathroom and say Mohammed three times in the mirror, then light a candle. ISIS will be behind you.

What did you expect? Kurdish people are also Muslims therefore they're as likely to join a jihad organization as a Turkish, Arab, Paki or Chechen person.

Intense nationalism seems to counter any pro-ISIS thoughts for Kurds.

Let's not forget about the ones which consider themselves as Muslims before X nationality though.
I hear it kind of sucks to be Jewish in France at the moment.

Anti-semitism has been growing for a while now.

When has it not sucked to be a Jew in Europe for the most part, seriously. Jews have been disenfranchised in a majority of European countries for centuries
Honestly, it seems that antisemitism in France grew along with the number of Muslims in france, at least in recent year.

Some say if you do it backwards, ISIS shows up behind you with candles and a bubble bath though

ISIS will behead you*

There seems to be a long history of Jews being kicked out of almost every country imaginable.
So it's not without reason.

Too much effort, just draw a picture of him instead.

:what:
I love how it's racist to criticize migrants but antisemitism is rampant in Europe thanks to the migrants, and also to the leftist elite who perhaps harbor a bit of a grudge..
It's ridiculous that you're bringing in illiterate, freeloading migrants at the expense of educated, hardworking native citizens.

Are you saying that there was a good reason for those countries to kick the jews out?
Are you saying that there was a good reason for those countries to kick the jews out?
I want to think he was trying to say there's a reason it sucks to be Jewish in Europe and he worded it horrendously.

I rethinked about my post and frankly it's a bit stupid.
It's like saying "They were stoning people for 1000 years, so there has to be a (good) reason".
Though it's possible there were a good reasons for Jews to be kicked out: many Jews were on higher positions (finance/politics/newspapers), and with those positions working together you can influence society.
Invokes ISIS? What is this, like when you invoke a demon and it appears, but instead ISIS appears?
I laughed pretty hard at this. It's like, man, we get it. ISIS sucks. But they aren't the Boogeyman. People need to grow up.

Had to double down, didn't you?

In case you were wondering, that's exactly the kind of casual antisemitism that makes it suck being a Jew in Europe.
Edit:

the term "invoke" is commonly used in pieces like this to describe a situation where someone commits a violent act and announces or displays its intended meaning. there were articles about those 2 girls that stabbed their friend for "slenderman" that used the term the same way. that doesn't mean they believed that the girls summoned slenderman.
it's a lot closer to the definition of the word than what you seem to be thinking of.
Merriam-Webster defines the word as:
to mention (someone or something) in an attempt to make people feel a certain way or have a certain idea in their mind
to refer to (something) in support of your ideas
