Joao Pereira de Souza, 71, discovered the bird covered in oil and close to death on a beach near his island village outside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2011. The retired bricklayer and part time fisherman cleaned Dindim's feathers and fed him daily until he was healthy enough to return to the wild.
Why doesnt it just fly
It's love for him is to valuable to be that easy to show. It must swim, and it does every mile there with joy.
Why doesnt it just fly
They won't let him on the plane.

Would be shit if it got killed on the way.... :(
Kinda funny/nice to have this story, especially when that one glacier crashed in and isolated that one penguin group like a week ago.
Would be shit if it got killed on the way.... :(
You must be fun at parties.
If this is true that's a lovely, heartwarming story. In all honesty it sounds too good to be true though :(
How does it know where the man is and who he is though? How does a penguin identify a person? Their scent or what?
How does it know where the man is and who he is though? How does a penguin identify a person? Their scent or what?
Studies have shown that birds are actually capable of identifying and remembering people by their faces. They're damned smart creatures. And many kinds of penguins normally migrate from place to place; most likely it just remembers where he was last same way they know where to migrate to, and he hasn't moved from there.
I would swim 4000 km And I would swim 4000 more Just to be the penguin who swam 8000 km To fall down at your door
