The Lego men — who represented Jon Chippindall, 31 and entrepreneur Ian Cunningham, 29 — went 27 km into space.
http://www.torontosun.com/2013/11/04/lego-men-sent-into-space-for-500 Here's a video of the probe going up, too
Now we can show the aliens the might of our weaponry, tactical lego pieces scattered about their homes.
hardly space
hardly space
Agreed.. It's still in the stratosphere (barely in space).. Just over twice the ceiling of a Boeing 787..
hardly space
what do you define as being "space"?
what do you define as being "space"?
I think the Karman line is what defines the distance between "space" and "outer earth atmosphere". Here are pictures of our intrepid travellers: I'm really psyched about space today because the Mars mission launch from the ISRO is today () a lot of my family members have worked on it, so they're all pretty tense.
I think the Karman line is what defines the distance between "space" and "outer earth atmosphere".
the karman line is a very arbitrary boundary though. i guess it's as good of an answer as any but it doesn't really define what "outer space" is.
In space, no one can hear you argue whether or not you're in space.
dear god the ultimate kessler syndrome..... releasing my giant 100lb chest of legos into a retrograde orbit in space, nobody can hear you screem....when you step on fucking legos for the 1000th time...... (or when one wizzes right through your head)
what do you define as being "space"?
Roughly 100km So they got about 1/3rd of the way. It's not uncommon for people to get this wrong, but you'd expect a fully fledged reporter to do a little better research and get the terminology right
I'm really psyched about space today because the Mars mission launch from the ISRO is today () a lot of my family members have worked on it, so they're all pretty tense.
That's pretty cool, mind telling us a bit more about them?
That's pretty cool, mind telling us a bit more about them?
Well if all goes according to plan (the launch is about 2 hours from now), I'll be posting the news here as soon it gets out. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/isro-all-set-to-launch-its-historic-mars-mission/1190883/ Basically, they worked on different aspects of the Mangalyaan satellite and today, the PSLV will launch it into space where it'll be in orbit for a while before carrying on to Mars. It might not be huge for other countries, but it's a huge step for India's Space Program (which is in my eyes the only government organization that isn't corrupt as fuck and is awesome considering what they do with such a relatively tiny budget) They have a few live feeds of the launch from Sriharikota, but for some reason they involve using some shitty plugins which I am not a fan of. Still, it's exciting because it's India's first mission to Mars.
hardly space
According to some experts that lego man has just left the solar system. Take that Voyager!
In space, no one can hear you argue whether or not you're in space.
How to find space: Be two people, climb a really tall ladder or something, arguing wether you're in space or not the entire way. Once argument ends, you're in space.
