I love the sound of them marching. This is all turning in to a real movie.
What the fuck are the cops doing? There are people on the sidewalks, not doing anything unlawful, having a lawful assembly. Then the cops "close" the street, and a few of the people end up in the street. So that's what, a few tickets for jay-walking? Some guy with a blowhorn, that's one count of disturbing the peace, and then maybe a few others who are screaming, but the cops are being loud as fuck too. What the fuck is going on.. :Dawkins102:

The sound of them marching is actually them hitting their shield. As the guy in the video said, it's an intimidation technique.
Or maybe something happened before the person started recording.
I doubt it. Look at what's happening. The cops are all being told to get rid of any protesters, even though you're allowed to by the document holding up the US government, holding a peaceful protest. I didn't even see one person getting directly in the faces of the cops. This is fucked up.

Look over the "G20 protestors in Pennsylvania met by resistance from riot police" in the News section and "G20 Protest videos" in VFMKC. As we've established there, you need permit to assemble in large groups, you must be under police control and surveillance while assembling, and you must not perform any violent action. These people assembling here without a permit blocks traffic, disturbs the peace, they are not confined to a specific area, they are not confined to a public area, without police control they are able to move anywhere they want, could be attacked by opposing persons, or attack opposing person...even if they aren't doing anything violent, many, many people in the protests were. Any one of those people could do something violent. Mob mentality could set in. Even if none of them do, then for their own safety, to be kept away from or seperate from those who do act violently. The man with the loudspeaker is wrong- the actions by police are not unconstitutional. You have the freedom to assemble, but like all freedoms, there are limits and restrictions for safety and order. You cannot yell fire in a crowded room or slander someone's name even though you have freedom of speech. The constitution is only the ground rules, it's the laws we add upon those that we live by. The constitution says nothing about murder- should we let murderers go unpunished? The constitution does not have the Miranda rights- but aren't you glad you must be read your rights before questioning? There is nothing fucked up here- all it is is an out of control situation being handled efficiently by police in an attempt to prevent damage to people, property, and business and to uphold order so nothing turns into a riot.
Protesting is stupid anyways, it never gets anywhere in the first place.
I dont see why the police are there anyways.
the police looks badass
Sigh..
Holy shit that thing's loud.
This is pretty terrible to watch, I know it doesn't seem like that much to most of you but just think how easy it is for them to completely ignore the first amendment. Who says they can't stop paying attention to the rest of the constitution as well.
CP!
I dont see why the police are there anyways.
To prevent a riot, disperse people causing property damage and unlawfully expanding through the city and disturbing the peace, prevent people from harming each other, and to disperse bystanders and protesters who could be harmed.
Holy shit, Black Anon and Captain America are teaming up to stop the Nazi police and Optimus Prime!
U S A U S A WalMart :911:
It appears you agree with that law and have some valid arguments but I still think it's wrong for police to disperse a peaceful gathering like that.
That's not SWAT, they're riot police.

Why can't they just get a permit... It's not that hard. And while that guy is right about LRAD's being used in Iraq, they were designed for crowd control, and they are not harmful to you at all.
I'm okay with them excersiseing their freedom of speech, but do they have to take a loud megaphone, disturb the peace, and basically annoy everyone who doesn't care about what they're whining about?
The sound of them marching is actually them hitting their shield. As the guy in the video said, it's an intimidation technique.
Int-t-timidation technique* I think it was working.
I read through a bunch of that G20 thread on this act of riot control, if it can even be called that. And I can agree on some of the points being "stop it before it starts" HOWEVER, there was more then enough time and an absolutly better way of handling this situation without teargas and/or beating random people who happend to get to close to a pissed off cop. I don't agree that this was the right choice for the police or the mayor to give the go ahead. You should know that ignorance of the law is no reason to get out of trouble for breaking it BUT, there is nothing saying that a cop can be disciplined for ignorance of the law. One example is my dad got arrested for a felony gun charge and was released the next day on an ROR. He was parked in a parking space and the cop stoped up behind him, did the usual cop thing and asked for his ID and stuff but what he did wrong was search his van without probale cause OR reason of suspicion. My dad tryed to file a law suit for violation of his civil rights but not one lawyer was brave enough to take the case, which stands as "cops can do whatever and get away with it". My dad also told me that the cop sped like 70 the whole way to the jail and fliped his lights on for a second just to bolt through red lights, which is not really unheard of. I don't hate cops or anything like that, I just hate the stupid people who take the job thinking "FUCK YEAH, I get all these benifits and can do almost whatever I want. And if I'm shot, I'm set for life!" I also get theres more then enough of those who take the job to really do the serve and protect thing, but every group of fruit gets their bad apples.
id throw tear gas at that guy anyway. he seems to be annoying. Protesters are annoying fucks. Now riots...thats another story. Half the people are there just incase something goes wrong and they can start throwing shit. I like how hes yapping about hearing loss through a megahorn into that ladys ear.
Oh damn, watching this video had my Rome Total War instincts kick in, I was expecting any second for a group of horsemen to ram into the Riot Police from behind.
