I wonder what sort of MMO Blizzard is gonna come with. Another Warcraft MMO will destroy their current one, there's already a modder who's got a basic build of a Starcraft MMO. Damn, I'm being way too curious about this.
I hope its not a MMORPG A MMOFPS/RTS would be interesting.
I'd like to see one with graphics even half as good as the Trailers make them out to be
It better not be as good as WoW, or another 5 years of my life may vanish. :ohdear:
Wait, I don't understand. Are they only making a new MMORPG, or are they saying they aren't making anymore wow expansions?
Wait, I don't understand. Are they only making a new MMORPG, or are they saying they aren't making anymore wow expansions?
Blizzard probably has at least 2-3 expansion packs under its belt.
I'd like to see one with graphics even half as good as the Trailers make them out to be
How do you expect to play that when you got 20 monsters running around next to you and a group of 30 other players walking around casting spells and swinging swords? It would lagg like a bitch. Same reason why graphics are not very hi-res in RTS games. There is too much too handle at once. In FPS games there are maybe a total of 5-10 people, including you, in the same visible area. And even without top notch graphics it will lagg for most people. They are not stopping with expansions any time soon.
Maybe they'll make an original setting this time.
World of Starcraft. I'd try it :v:
Morhaime said: “To break the mold, sometimes you have to start over.” I wish he’d said “Sometimes you break the mould, sometimes the mould breaks you.” That would have been cooler, although it wouldn’t have made as much sense.
Yes it would have: Sometimes your ambitious ideas and design can strain you too much, meaning that although the theory was great, in practice it's impossible in the current situation. Things like funds, time, technological hurdles or the readiness of the market isn't enough and thus it can break the company apart.
Maybe it's another Warcraft game
It's not starcraft, warcraft or diablo. It's a new IP.
Maybe it's another Warcraft game
As much as I wish it were, they said it's an MMO and they also said they're not making any more Warcraft games (the RTS Warcraft)
Universe of Starcraft. E3 2012, calling it right now.
I hope by "not making a WoW sequel" they mean it will be a completly differant style of game - Not the standard MMO where you just click an attack and have some sort of action bar and things like that.

I'd like an mmorpg that didn't focus on the "massive" part. More of people in the hundreds in one area, so they can focus a little more on quality and graphics. some kind of fps mmorpg or osmething
They don't need sequels, expansions are easier.
From what I've heard, they been looking at Call of Duty, and other FPS games, so Titan may not be a mmorpg, it might be a major mmofps.
World of Cod.....Ugh
You don't play many MMO's do you?
I've played a handful. Countless of people found Age of Conan to lagg like a bitch. And those graphics aren't very impressive. And Guild Wars for example looks worse than WoW even if it's more hi-res. Because shit just doesn't flow well because it tries to be realistic to the extent that it forgets to create a style (same with Conan, really). And of course, it lagged like a bitch back in those days. The days of Geforce 6600.
Lack, lagg, or lag? Which is it?
Lagg. I have no idea in hell how I managed to type lack. I even thought about the word and how some also call it lag when I typed it. Weird shit.
id be down for a world of starcraft, as long as they dont butcher the canon like they did with warcraft
Am i the only one who's hoping they really make it massively multiplayerorpg as in everybody on the same server?
And Guild Wars for example looks worse than WoW even if it's more hi-res. I love the Guild Wars style, personally.
That would require a massive budget, a huge team to make a map big enough to fit everyone, massive maintence costs to the main server, not mentioning that the entire game would be offline when it upgrades
If a company based out of Iceland that's younger and much less known than Blizzard can do it (CCP. In case you didn't know, EVE is based on one server. It goes down for one hour of maintenance every day, but at a time when the least people are playing. EVE certainly doesn't have a small playerbase by any means, either), then the argument that it would be a challenge for Blizzard is invalid.
That would require a massive budget, a huge team to make a map big enough to fit everyone, massive maintence costs to the main server, not mentioning that the entire game would be offline when it upgrades
Blizzard is printing money man, you're talking about the biggest game company in the world here. If eve online can afford to do it, then blizzard can do the same as well.
