• Photoshop question about connecting dots and creating shapes?

I'm wondering if I can somehow draw shapes by creating and connecting dots, and then maybe select each closed shape and color it? Like this: I don't know where this thread truly belongs, but I figured people around here could have the answer.
Polygonal Lasso tool. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] Then fill it with color.
That will not do. There's no anchored 'dots' with that tool, and I will almost guaranteed get shapes overlapping if they're close to each other by doing it one shape at a time? =o I need a selectable patchwork.
Master the polygonal selection tool, and utilize "save selection" and load selection, there's a lot of different options in the selection tab that will help.
Pen tool? It has anchor points. And its by far a lot better then the poly lasso tool.

You will however not be able to draw several points and chose which to close and not. You have to draw all the shapes individually. What you have drawn will have one shape which can only have one colour or gradient. If you want to colour it beyond that you will have to use masks or CTRL click the shape in the layers window, which will make a selection of the shape as if you were to use the lasso tool on it.
pen tool works well
Pen tool w/ grid?
