Google and parent company Alphabet have shut down all Google Glass-related social-media accounts, including Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. The move to kill off the Google Glass brand name comes as the 'Enterprise Edition' device for business continues to be developed.[/quote]

I'm surprised google has decided to axe all social media accounts, talking to Glass support they really showed no signs of stopping their social media updates. I wonder if hardware and warranty support will be ending anytime soon
probably going to be rebuilt into a different brand
like how microsoft surface went from table to best ultrabook laptop
Tried a Google glass once, its a really interesting idea, but (at least for me) you need to strain your eyes to look at it properly.
Hopefully they can make a subtler version (like where the screen is built into the lenses of sunglasses or something), because it is a really cool idea.
Just not good enough for recording your one-shot attempt at a political career and dangerous street racing that gets people killed while you rant about the cops touching it wrong.

Do you wear glasses? All the people I've let try them on found the screen easy to see, unless they had pretty strong perscriptions
I'm so glad some kid on my campus a few years ago was wondering around with one of these. We struck up a conversation and I someone convinced him to let me try it on. I wish I had one
Only ever saw one person with one and it was last week in the uni library, just happened to look through a window and see someone with a pair on
It's so sad that a lot of people bashed on the design, I thought it looked great and non-intrusive.
I also loved the conceptual features, but apparently battery life is shit on these things? A shame, I really wanted one.
I had one for a month, novelty wears off pretty quick once you realize it doesn't contribute much at all to your daily life and is just another thing to charge. If they had actually made it to the mass production stage where it cost a a few hundred bucks instead of close to two thousand (after tax, frames, and lenses), I would've stuck with it, but I couldn't justify spending that much just to get notifications on my face.

zeiss has made a pair of smart glasses that look like a pair of glasses
[t]http://cdn.trendhunterstatic.com/thumbs/carl-zeiss-smart-glasses.jpeg[/t]
what google failed to address and what ultimately killed the consumer market for it was the fact that they looked like a piece of tech stuck to your glasses, sort of how the majority of the smart watches out now either are an apple-like watch or a watch that does smart stuff
They messed up hard by making the glasses look subtle. imo they should have gone full blast futuristic and silly.

Nope, I have 20/20 vision, I might've been looking at them wrong somehow, but my eyes just hurt after a while.

As hard to believe as it is, most people don't really want to go around with neon green cyberpunk laser glasses.
I mean, I do, but that's not going to be as big a market as just ordinary looking everyday glasses.

Having a huge futuristic thing on your face really isn't the design goal for glass though, having it at least be fairly inconspicuous lets it cover a much larger range of people to market to

Hm, weird. Not sure what was off then, although my first time using it was a little weird

That just looks like a pair of cheap spy glasses.
I can see Google Glass being good in a workplace, if they make a cheaper business version.
It could be great for quickly checking the barcodes on items while keeping both your hands free, and for checking the contents of things like pallets.
Never had a problem with the design, really wish they waited though until it was ready to be sold as a consumer product before releasing it. They tried to get developers to create applications for a market that didn't exist and the hype died.
