im not really having a problem with just random panic attacks, although I did have one at school today, but that was the first random one in a while, anyway, I went to the Green Day American Idiot on Broadway thing on sunday, and as soon as I sat down about ten minutes before the show I got nervous, I guess part of it was due to being excited about the show, and I was also thinking like "oh what if this happens" etc even though I knew it wasnt gonna happen, so to calm my self down I pulled out my Ipod and played doodlejump until I felt better, then the show started and music started playing loudly, and loud noises set off a panic attack for some reason so I started having probably the biggest panic attack of my life, my hands were sweating like crazy, my heart was beating fast, i had the "butterflies in your stomach" feeling, and I had this the whole show, which kind of ruined it for me, even though it was pretty good. so my problem is i might be going to my first concert ever possibly this summer, and I know that its gonna be loud and im not sure if ill even be able to go, its probably gonna be alot louder than the broadway thing, so what can I do to prevent a panic attack, and if i do start to panic how can I calm my self down, im just tired of these panic attacks ruining my life, its annoying!
You went to a concert and played on your ipod?
not while the concert was going on lol, i payed attention the whole time
You went to a concert and played on your ipod?
Way to read. TL;DR: He went to see Green Day on Broadway, had a panic attack there. Next hes going to a concert and is worried about another attack. What do?
Maybe talk to your doctor, so they can refer you to a specialist.
Maybe talk to your doctor, so they can refer you to a specialist.
Pretty much this OP, Dr. Facepunch only has a PhD in stupid.
Go see a doctor, he'll guide you in the right direction. There are meds to prevent panic attacks from happening or at least lessen the symptoms.
I got panic attacks really bad a month or two ago. All you gotta do is ignore them and they go away on their own.
maybe its just me, but I find ignoring a panic attack hard.
Eat approximately 7grams of Psilocybin mushrooms. Do it once daily.
maybe its just me, but I find ignoring a panic attack hard.
It takes a while. Maybe what I had wasn't really a panic attack. Who knows, but they sure felt like them. You should probably go to a psychologist and get a prescription for some anxiety meds.

What if you have colon cancer right now? You wouldn't even know it. It is just slowly festering and will continue to do so until it is too late. You know that thing you said to that girl? Yeah she thought it was stupid, and laughs about you behind your back. You only have a few days before you have to return to school. Did you do all of your assignments? Did you do well on that test? Something in there has to hit a nerve.
Stop being panic!

He's obviously being sincere and you're a moderator. You're supposed to hold yourself to a higher standard of posting than that.

Because we are obviously doctors who are trained to diagnose and medicate him.
Just because you don't know how to help him doesn't mean you have to be a jerk.
You have cancer.
Just because you don't know how to help him doesn't mean you have to be a jerk.
I know exactly how to help him. Demonstrate why you don't come to the internet with mental problems, and then tell him to go to the doctor. Done and done. Otherwise it would be 80 pages of "go to the doctor" "but the doctor is so far awayyyyyyy" "go to the doctor" "but I don't have any money" "go to the doctor" "but my mom doesn't believe I have panic attacks" The number of mental/medical help threads that follow this pattern is depressingly large.
