So, for my history class we had to create an ancient greek/rome artifact. My group chose to create a corinthian helmet, and I just wanted to post about it because I thought it was turning out really cool. I know it is pretty late in the creation process, but I hadn't thought of taking any photos before this point.

The entire thing is made with cast plaster (with the fibrous mesh inside), flat plaster, and fiberglass cloth. I will post updates as I work on it, It will probably be finished by the end of tonight. If anyone wants to know how to create one, Just ask me and I can help out

I plan on using a rust effect. The paint i just put on it is completely laced with iron filings, and will rust when i put an oxidizing agent on it.
When the entire thing is done I will post step-by-step (in text format) as well as the basic templates i used for the cheeks.

and if i have the time i will add a plume, My deadline is on thursday

added the oxidizer, just gotta wait and see how it turns out. if it is satisfactory i'll just seal it and call it done (decided I had no time for making the frill, and this style did not always have one)
would be really cool if you added a cracked layer of 'metal' on top to give the helmet some more texture and depth to it. Right now it looks like it has been sanded down, but very cool nonetheless!
This reminds me of the war relic thread I was just reading in GD. Great job in this, it has remarkable craftsmanship and quality. Especially for a school project.

yeah. I was thinking the exact same thing. maybe next time I make one.
just finished (almost) the rest of the helmet, will post pics as soon as the paint dries, and i finish up painting the bottom of the dome. I think it looks rad, and everyone at my school wants to try it on :v: will post a tutorial soon. After i'm done i may make a cast of it, so i can cast an iron one.
also next I think i'm going to make the horned helm from skyrim, y/n?

also, now that i have chosen to make a skyrim helmet next, should I do daedric or the trademark horned one?
also once I get my homework out of the way I will begin typing instructions on how to make one
