• Coca-Cola molecule beneficial to health

So I've been doing a piece of college research lately for my chemistry class, specifically on the topic of nutrition. I chose to research the effects of carbonated drinks replacing water in the diet. To date, my studies have shown that the filterated and distilled water in carbonated drinks that create the pure taste are infact much less degrading to the human urethra in the sense that chlorine and vitamin K are defficient in coca-cola. This means that the urine is less potent. I also found, using mixed iodine and sulphuric acid solution, that the Phosphoric acid in coca-cola is cleansing to the bronchial tubes, and purifies the cillia of tar that may be damaged by smoking ciggerettes - this ingredient is obviously not found in water. E211 is also prominent in the vegetable extracts used to create the binding agents of coca-cola. Water is also lacking in Oxygen particles. The equation for water is - as you can see there is only one Oxygen atom. This contrasts with the coca-cola molecule, - which shows that Oxygen is a much more dominent atom in the mixture. I created a survey and strolled around my local town on a saturday mid-day, asking selected parents that had children who had an average-coke-drinking-ratio, and 7/10 of these parents found this research inciteful.
More oxygen in the molecule doesn't make it healthier. H2O2 is hydrogen peroxide
Interesting. And I always drink Coca-Cola whenever I have a headache since they said it cures headaches.
More oxygen in the molecule doesn't make it healthier. H2O2 is bleach.
No it's not ? Well it can be used as bleach, but hydrogen peroxide isn't bad in any way for you
Perfect excuse to keep drinking it! Thanks OP! :buddy: [editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
More oxygen in the molecule doesn't make it healthier. H2O2 is bleach.
Let's call that Hydrogen Peroxide, shall we?
It may indeed cure your headaches because it contains caffeine, most people in the western world are actually partially addicted to caffeine. When you drink coca-cola you're supressing the cravings for caffeine.
No it's not ?
it's hydrogen peroxide, used in some forms of bleach.
whoops, edited
Interesting. And I always drink Coca-Cola whenever I have a headache since they said it cures headaches.
I do the same thing, it always seems to work. :frogc00l:
It may indeed cure your headaches because it contains caffeine, most people in the western world are actually partially addicted to caffeine. That's like saying that heroine cures withdrawl from opiates. Well, it does in a way but thats still a bullshit thing to point out.
Interesting. And I always drink Coca-Cola whenever I have a headache since they said it cures headaches.
caffeine promotes blood flow, and helps get that circulation in your head
Interesting. And I always drink Coca-Cola whenever I have a headache since they said it cures headaches.
Caffeine, it works for me too. give me clocks
whoops, edited
It's correct, no worries. Peroxide is highly explosive and destroys cell walls (?, iirc). It's been used as a weapon. If you're in a chemistry class then how are you getting access to living cillia?
Haven't had a pop in months.
What are you getting at with the oxygen content of the molecules? You can't use these particles for respiration without breaking them down. That would require more energy than respiration is able to output.
Man you are very smart!

I should know, I̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶G̶o̶o̶g̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶m̶i̶n̶u̶t̶e̶ ̶a̶g̶o̶ I'm a doctor.
Water is also lacking in Oxygen particles. Most likely the body will absorb it differently and use it differently. Like try breathing in O3 instead of O2, and then tell me about it.
This would be right if it wasn't for the sheer amount of sweeteners and artificial flavors Coca Cola has. It may have one particular molecule which is helpful, but the downsides far outweight the benefits. Literally.
It's correct, no worries. Peroxide is highly explosive and destroys cell walls (?, iirc). It's been used as a weapon.
Isn't Hydrogen Peroxide used to disinfect cuts?
Isn't Hydrogen Peroxide used to disinfect cuts?
It's highly unstable (Hence explosions are likely when you add in heat and whatnot) Ether used to be used as an anaesthetic, until they realised it caused health problems and could also explode.
Isn't Hydrogen Peroxide used to disinfect cuts?
H2O2 ~3% is used for medical purposes, anything higher can have some nasty effects/reactions

Fuck health. It still ruins the enamel on your teeth, resulting in those irritating-as-fuck freezes. Also, it makes you fat. Good job Facepunch, stay classy.
Fuck health. It still ruins the enamel on your teeth, resulting in those irritating-as-fuck freezes.
brush your teeth once in a while
brush your teeth once in a while
I'm an athlete, I don't drink soda. Also, I do brush my teeth. Twice a day to be exact. Sorry about seeming pissed-off, but people condoning the consumption of soda, and calling it healthy at the same time.. it just results in bad things.
It's better than some jock tard saying "hur unhealthy" without support his statement.
even if humans are equipped to safely and effectively break down that compound and use the oxygen, it is probably a negligable amount compared to the needed intake from the lungs
