Hey All, I thought it would be good if we had a place to post whatever assignments we have going on for school / university so that we can share ideas and try to help each other out! I'll start, this is my first assignment http://haslehurst.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/task-outline.pdf And this is the work I've done on it so far: https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1HSQtiDEVHp8SxE_INxi_csOpsYTAGEU7rvPFkdXjTJY any feedback would be awesome!
Looks good so far, bro. Might want to consider better paragraphing but it reads well and looks interesting. I'd like to see what the photography you end up with is like. Had to do a montage of my photography of the last six months. The actual image was 60CM x 100CM and the PSD file was almost 200MB. FML.
I hate going out to shoot fil for school projects. Being constrained to certain subjects sucks when you see the perfect picture. With digital it doesn't matter but film you only have 24 shots and the all have to be on the subject, at least with my teacher.

Cool, what country / schooling system? also my model just bailed on me, 12 hours before I'm meant to be doing my shoot, just a tad annoying :argh:

Just finished an Abstract Photography assignment for my Interactive Design course at Lincoln Uni. By the course title you can tell its clearly not going to be a photography course but we get some photography assignments every now and again which i enjoy even though i have very little experience with subject.
I did my shoot today, here's the first edited photo! I'm not in any photography classes this year but I aide for the teacher anyway, and he gives me some of the advanced photo class assignments.
During February and March you will be creating photographs that explore a concentration of your own choosing...
That's the one for this month. Basically it's 4 shoots throughout February and March that focus in on a subject matter you choose, or decide to choose throughout the shoots. The one I have chosen is "Art Elements & Design Principles." For those of you that haven't taken a formal art class yet, it might do you well to read up on them and keep them in mind when you're photographing. I'm a little behind, seeing as I'm starting a month later, but since it isn't really for a grade I can take my time with it. I was thinking of exploring lines and shapes in an original, minimalistic way. Kind of like the following photographs I've taken: Roof by tomshandruk, on Flickr Snow Tracks by tomshandruk, on Flickr Lines by tomshandruk, on Flickr Day 2 by tomshandruk, on Flickr What do you guys think? Is planning to shoot lines and shapes too cliché? Any suggestions?
They don't all fit together, and to me they're kinda boring. Although I must say I like the second one for the curves and the colors in the fourth.
Yeah - to me doing lines is a little risky because you walk the line between something fantastic and something which is a little uninteresting.

I might adjust the concentration to having something to do with shadows and light; I'll post in here when I have a few shots.
