The legal sex age. - General

I was just thinking while I was lying in bed about the legal sex age. I was thinking that it is illegal to have sex under that age and it is illegal for people that are over that age limit to have sex with underaged people. I was also thinking that people who are over the legal age get into trouble for it if they have sex with minors. But why don't the minors get into trouble? Why are they able to get off the hook for "breaking the law" They're not exaclty victims if they consent to it but they get away with it while the legal person gets into trouble and gets frowned upon. I don't think it's fair to be honest that these minors get away with having underaged sex. I think they should get a form of punishment or something for breaking this law. My sister for example is one of those dumb kids who is having sex at a young age, she is with someone who is seven years older than herself. I know it is her choice but she could've waited till she was older but no she is in too much of a rush to grow up and do adult things and now for her being stupid and not waiting she could be pregnant. She has been using contraception but still everyone knows that doesn't work 100% When she told me this I said well that'll teach you for having underage sex. Anyway, what does the Facepunch community think about this now that someone has mentioned it, discuss your thoughts and opinions on the topic. Sorry for the lack of punctuation it's late and I am tired. My sister is 15 he is 22, she also told me if she is pregnant she wants an abortion because she isn't ready for a baby but she is going to discuss it with her boyfriend.

Seeing as I had my first sexual experience just few months after passing the legal age, I can say that it's good that it is that high, I had very noticeable changes in my behaviour because of it, so I can follow you whole way through.

If the guy is over 16, tell him to fuck right off or you'll get his ass put on the sex offenders register.

If the old doesn't think twice before sleeping with a minor, then that person has the intelligence of a minor itself.

If your looking for a punishment...you never know..they may have contracted something...hopefully. But on the flip side...As said above...some people do know what they're doing.

I'm going to discuss this with my mum too. I know if I did it I owuld feel bad because my sister really likes him but it doesn't feel right for them to continue to be doing the things they do. Maybe if it was innocent then it would be okay but seeing as it is not it just feels yucky.

I would meet this 22 year old MAN with incredible violence if it were my sister. As her brother you have some responsibility here. Tell her, and this sick fucker that you'll go to the police. He'll dump your sister like a sack of spuds. Which is a far better outcome than her being taken advantage of by a grown man. Or you could get evidence (phone records, photo's etc) and blackmail him into leaving her alone. Personally i would just attack the kunt. Whats he gonna do ? Tell the poilice he has been assaulted because he was shagging an underage girl ? The way i see it you have a free license to do what you want to this guy. Police, threats, blackmail, whatever. He has no viable response. And to get to your point. The reason the younger partner is never prosecuted is that they are seen as a victim of crime, not a perpetrator. They ae deemed too inexperienced to fully account for their actions, whereas the older partner is seen to be using their age and position to tempt and corrupt their "victim". This may not be true in all cases, but who cares. It stops peado's pretending kids want it.

Personally I think the statutory rape law shouldn't apply if one of the two participants is 17 and the other is 18. I knew a guy who spent a year in jail and did house arrest time for it and is now a registered sex offender. He was a good guy too and they both agreed to it, so there was really no form of rape considering it happened 2 moths after his birthday.
