When they were showing Pauline from behind at the end of the trailer, I don't know why but I was hoping they would do a gag where after she was done singing, the camera would pan around to the front and Pauline would be wearing Mario's hat and mustache. :v:
I seriously thought they were going to build up to a fake-out gag where the female singer had been taken over by Mario.

I absolutely love everything about Super Mario 3D World, especially the visuals and sound design. Though, Odyssey certainly seems to stray from the current format established by 3D Land and 3D World, which is probably what the series needs now as it transitions to the next console.

Nintendo posted a visual a while back showing their intent to have two lines of main series Mario games right now, with Odyssey falling into the 64/Sunshine category.
I'm digging that nod to the original DK background music during the "Odyssey" part
