Washington (CNN)Former President Jimmy Carter's cancer has stopped spreading and is "responding well to treatment," The Carter Center in Atlanta said in a statement Tuesday.
Carter, 91, announced in August that four spots of cancer had spread to his brain.

Carter said in August that he initially thought he only had weeks to live -- but that even as his doctors became more optimistic, he was placing his fate in the hands of God.
"I have had a wonderful life," Carter said then. "I'm ready for anything and I'm looking forward to a new adventure."
as much as people still hate him for being a very bad president (guess where the obama hate comes from......) he has done so much as a peace-maker in his following years
thank god, he's a great man and it's great to see cancer not winning for once

What? People hate Obama because he's black, not because of things that Jimmy Carter did 30 years ago. Even then, I doubt most people even remember Carter's presidency because Ronald Reagan was such a huge deal

to be honest, most of the "mindless" hate on Obama (not legitimate criticisms) are that he is the anticrist, not born american, muslim, etc, stuff that fox news says. I think sableye was referring to the kind of people who today support trump

President Carter actually did a lot of smart moves in the long run, like waking up America to their consumption of oil from singular places. We're now one of the most oil secure nations on the planet because of large back up oil reserves controlled by the military as well as the fact we have the most diverse portfolio of oil imports(not withstanding our own domestic production).
Just like Nixon was a right asshole but we wouldn't nearly be as green if he had not created and given the powers the EPA wields today.
Carter caught so much flak because he had a lot of worst-case-senarios occur right at the end of the tail end of his presidency, the time when most presidents are focused on "what next for myself" rather than what their duties as president are at the time, as what happens with any person in any job. Not saying Carter didn't do anything, but he wasn't completely devoted to fixing what needed to be fixed, which is understandable for the position he was in. He recognized this and devoted his life afterwards to making up for his mistakes, which is admirable in any situation.
Carter was a good president I don't give a damn what old people think.

Is Jimmy Carter the oldest living president?
Is Jimmy Carter the oldest living president?
Unless George Bush somehow passed away without me knowing it, yeah.
Also, the submarine named after him is literally the most advanced thing ever created by human beings. That shit is so top secret, there's parts of the boat even guys on the boat aren't allowed to know about. It has taken out entire fleets by itself in war games.

George Bush is a couple months older.
I know nothing of his time in presidency, but it's always awesome to cancer getting kicked in the ass.
Well done to him for staying so positive, and his doctor's for doing a stand-up job.
