• Sbarro Pizza company to file for Bankruptcy
You've likely had a slice of their pizza in a mall or airport somewhere in America, but fast-food pizza chain Sbarro is in trouble. The company has fallen behind on its debt payments and plans to file for bankruptcy, reports The Wall Street Journal. The recession and online shopping has cut numbers at the malls, meaning fewer customers for the chain, and the WSJ reports the company lost about $29.3 million during the first nine months of last year. No one we know is really wild for the heat-lamp-warmed pies, but if you're feeling nostalgic, the WSJ has a fun timeline of the company (turns out the chain actually began as an Italian grocery store in 1956) so you can get all of the cheesy details.
Dunno if they're in Europe, but I loved this place. Pizza slices were huge. It's much more involved than chapter 7 as it allows the firm the opportunity to reorganize its debt and to try to re-emerge as a healthy organization. What this means is that the firm will contact its creditors in an attempt to change the terms on loans such as the interest rate and dollar value of payments. Like its cousin, chapter 11 requires that a trustee be appointed; however, rather than selling off all assets to pay back creditors, the trustee supervises the assets of the debtor and allows business to continue. It's important to note that debt is not absolved in chapter 11: the restructuring only changes the terms of the debt, and the firm must continue to pay it back through future earnings.
Aww i kind of liked sbarro
Sbarwho?
Aww, I always like Sbarro. Good mall pizza.
What? I have never heard of This company.
Tis a shame, they had decent pizza considering the circumstances.
Aww, I always like Sbarro. Good mall pizza.
Definitely true.. sure the pizza was greasy and cheap.. but it was something you'd get once in a while at the mall. I doubt there will be another place that takes it's place for mall pizza. I haven't seen another shop like it.
I hate their pizzas.

Their pizza is shit.
There pizza was actually somewhat good. I'll miss them, or maybe someone will buy them out.
Their pizza is shit.
You're shit. I loved their pizza.
Their pizza rolls where of the gods
A lot of Facepunchers have never heard of Sbarro pizza cause they're mostly located in places socially active people go.
No. NO. This was not merely pizza. This was SBARRO'S. It was one of the best things at the mall. I'm gonna go order as many pizzas as I can fit in my house. I urge you all to do the same.
their pizzas were ok, nothing outstanding but hell it's mall pizza so
Sbarros wasn't that good tbh. Favorite mall food would be Sarku Japan or whatever the hell it's called (seriously their shit is amazing)

I remember when I first went to the mall after KB Toys had closed :froggonk: And then just a few weeks ago we went to the mall and this mexican food place in the food court that was actually locally owned had closed down. My mom was floored, because she worked there in high school and it was older than I am.

I loved Sbarro's as a kid.

I will never forget Sbarro. While all of my friends insisted on eating "healthier" at The Steak Escape, I always meandered my way to Sbarro for a nice honkin' slice of 'za. Now I'll probably have to step down to either The Steak Escape, with the sissies, or to one of the common fast food joints around. Arby's is OK, I suppose..

They just opened one near a fucking walmart. Does gamestop have a fetish with my town or something

Now it's just awkward with how many of them there are. There's two malls within at least 5-10 miles of each other around here. Both malls have a Gamestop inside them, and one literally across the street. One of them even has a third Gamestop just down the street from it.

They had so much cool stuff in that place.
