Taken is a 2008 French action thriller film starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, and Maggie Grace. It is based on a script by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen and was directed by Pierre Morel. Neeson plays a former Central Intelligence Agency paramilitary operative who sets about tracking down his teenage daughter after she is kidnapped by Albanian slave traders while traveling in France.
I saw this movie today in class. Let me tell you that this is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen in my entire life, in the action/thriller genre. Liam Neeson's voice is orgasmic, and the acting in this movie is better than anything I have ever seen. It blows other action-movies like Terminator out of the water, and (sorry, I just have to) even Chuck Norris shakes in fear at the sight of Bryan. If I were to choose between Toy Story 3 and Taken? Taken. If I were to choose between Avatar and Taken? Taken. If I were to choose between Die Hard and Taken? Taken. Trailer: To summarize this, I went home with my legs shaking. If there is a man I would go gay for, it would be Liam Neeson. This movie is badassery reincarnate. It lacks CGI, but it makes it all up with action and excellent acting. What was your opinion on this movie?
Liam Neeson is a pimp.
It's very good. And ironically enough, the guy getting tortured plays a torturer in the Harry Potter films(although this is not mentioned in the films, just books).
doesn't Liam Neeson like kill everyone in this movie?

This movie is so fucking badass. Not some American patriot bullshit, this is a real movie!
Was convinced by a thread on facepunch, best movie i've ever watched and i don't know why.
Agreed, taken is an insane film. Watched it when thrice, it was that good.
I love this movie.
Oh man, I have to watch this.
I remember seeing a movie poster of this once, it threatened that Liam Neeson will find me and kill me, i was paranoid because he has a holiday home near my house irl.
Great film.

I didn't care for it at all. It seemed like I've watched parts of this movie before. It tried so hard to be badass it just wasn't.
This movie was entertaining, but I wouldn't say that it was an amazing film. It consisted of Liam Neeson going from place to place fucking shit up. Pretty predictable, I don't think that there was a single moment where I was worried about his mortality, a lot like 24 in a way.
I thought the movie was pretty bad ass.
The release dates for this movie was so weird, maybe it's more common than I think, but I saw it way before anyone else where I live. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/releaseinfo

This movie was totally awesome, and Liam was absolutely fantastic in the role. I edited the sound clip of him saying his little "I will find you" speech, and when I'm playing TF2 on an alltalk arena server, I go Spy and wait until it's just me and one guy left. Then, when he least expects it, I hit play and tell him... "I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. Note I changed the part where he mentions his daughter, and changed it to just say "If you go now". You have no idea just how bloody perfect this speech is to use in such a situation, especially as a Spy... It usually ends with everyone laughing and in tears, particularly so if after saying it I decloak and get gibbed quicksmart :P
Watched this recently on Sky Movies, really really good movie.
It was like Fallout 3 dad except Taken dad kicks more ass

The movie wasn't too bad. Quite overrated, sure... but not bad either.
When I first heard of this movie I didn't want to watch it because of how cliche it sounded. Then one day my mom was watching it and when I heard Liam Neeson I was just like "Okay I'm watching this." It really is a badass movie. If you haven't seen it and you're skeptical of how enjoyable it will be, there's only one way to find out. Watch it.
OP could use more content I guess

I loved it, but it wasn't a 10 because of the sheer lack of character development. All it is is Neeson shooting shit and breaking necks. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily.
Liam Neeson going from place to place fucking shit up.
I'm pretty sure this is somewhere in the definition of a good movie.
OP could use more content I guess
Agree'd
