There’s no doubt that Michael Jordan is one of the greatest athletes of all time. But, his success on the basketball court hasn’t given him a free pass when it comes to the clothes he wears when he’s playing other sports: Jordan was banned from Miami’s La Gorce Country Club on Wednesday for wearing cargo shorts on the golf course and refusing to change. An avid golfer, Jordan isn’t a member at the Jack Nicklaus designed course, but was playing golf at the facility when he was approached by club personnel. According to the L.A. Times, the six time NBA champion was in the middle of playing 18 holes when he was asked to return to the clubhouse and change his cargo shorts. When Jordan refused, the club asked that he never return, and he left. The La Gorce Country Club declined to comment on the incident, but a member told ABCNews.com that the club has a strict dress code and that members have been reprimanded for not tucking in shirts or wearing flip flops instead of shoes. Jordan’s rep released the following statement regarding the incident: “Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants. He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it’s their loss — as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest.” This isn’t the first time Jordan’s wardrobe has come under fire. Earlier this year, he was seen at the Ryder Cup golf tournament in Medinah, Ill. wearing an all blue outfit of washed out jeans and a puffy vest, something that didn’t sit well with golf aficionados. The faux pas inspired a network of websites that poke fun at his style.
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2012/11/michael-jordan-banned-from-country-club-for-breaking-dress-code/
spoiler: they actually did it because he's black
A disgrace to properly dressed golfers everywhere.
Seriously. Cargo shorts.
Different standards...
Has he no shame?
Part of the reason why I simply cannot take golf seriously. It takes tremendous skill to perform at a professional level, but the leagues and clubs in it seem to operate in a different dimension.
Death penalty
Modern day racism
spoiler: they actually did it because he's black
Anything but white skin is a violation to their rules? :v:
2/10. Are you even trying?
shit i totally took an air shot with that post
He got banned for his comfort flex waistband underwear?
balls
What's wrong with cargo shorts? I'd understand him wearing his basketball shirt which would look pretty silly, but this is stupid.
Id just be like. "I'm Michael Jordan" problem solved.
Oh the humanity.

he can do what he wants; he's michael jordan
Well I don't see any other FAIRWAY to treat him after he committed such a dress-felony
Stranger still, he'd worn cargo pants/shorts to this specific place before and had no problem it seems, and even this time it was by his 12th hole. It just seems so random to come out and ban Michael from the club at that point. Still a stupid story overall, but meh. :v:
