The band is: David Byrne (vocalist, guitar (and he appeared in the Simsons)) who has a very unique and fitting voice,Tina Weymouth (bass) who can play some pretty cool basslines , Jerry Harrison (guitar, keyboards) who can make some pretty cool effects with the guitar, and Chris Frantz (drums) who plays drums. Their earlier stuff was more art post-punkish type stuff, then on More Music About Food and Buildings, Fear of Music, and Remain in Light , Brain Eno helped produce the album and gave them a more experimental sound. Any one of their first four albums are classics, their later stuff isn't really that great though. Albums: Talking Heads: 77 (1977) More Songs About Buildings and Food (1978) Fear of Music (1979) Remain in Light (1980) Speaking in Tongues (1983) Little Creatures (1985) True Stories (1986) Naked (1988) Music (some of these stuff are live versions so they may not be like they are on the album): Uh-Oh Love Comes to Town Psycho Killer (As seen on Rock Band 2) Thank You For Sending Me An Angel Take Me To The River I Zimbra (this is a weird song, but it's talking heads so it's pretty normal) Life During Wartime Born Under Punches (the Heat Goes On) Once In a Lifetime Burning Down the House Girlfriend Is Better And She Was So any Talking Heads fans here? Remain in light is my favourite album.
Wasn't Adrian Below a member for a while?
It's Belew, and according to wikipedia he did help with Remain in Light. I just listed the main members.
Burning Down the House is their only good song
This ain't no disco.
all of they are songs are their only good song
Burning Down the House is their only good song
I'm going to find where you live and rape you in your sleep.
I only really like Psycho Killer :( and no it isn't because of Rock Band 2.
I only really like Psycho Killer :( and no it isn't because of Rock Band 2.
yeah me too. It's at the end of "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon"
I only really like Psycho Killer :( and no it isn't because of Rock Band 2.
Psycho Killer reminds me of some crazy guy just singing about shit while the band is just going dude what the fuck are you on about
I've only heard a few songs but it's cool
One of my favourite bands; although in OP they are referenced as The Talking Heads. This is not so. The name of this band is 'Talking Heads'.
Hell yeah Talking Heads!!!
David Byrne is basically one of the greatest musical geniuses of all time. I love Talking Heads, glad there's a thread on them. David Byrne is, as stated before, a completel musical genius - he got a little too egotistical sadly.
I shall contribute greatly to this thread, but not now as I am tired :( In the mean time here is a rather odd interview that David did on Spaceghost.
The Talking Heads is also a pub I go to in Southampton.
Love me some "Nothing but Flowers"
Love me some "Nothing but Flowers"
Nothing but Flowers is an amazing song.
I think this band made me like "The Cure" and "Depeche mode"
I remember listening to this in the car when I was about 6. Psycho Killer in particular is part of the soundtrack to my childhood.
I'd have to say Life During War Times is probably my favorite
Stop Making Sense is a great album, so many songs sound so much better live - "Take Me To The River", "Naive Melody" and "Slippery People" being prime examples. Oh and the fantastic live version of "Burning Down The House"
Talking Heads are the bees knees.
Uh-Oh love comes to town rocks
