ASIO chief warns Australian politicians on Chinese political donations

The verbal briefing included naming donors his agency believed were acting on behalf of the Chinese Government.

None of the party leaders would comment on the meetings.

No, its more that chinese citizens in Australia have ties back to the chinese government, which is essentially the chinese government directly funding.
