[release]Mark Gordon is bringing his feature film Source Code to the small screen.
His Mark Gordon Company, which is locked into an overall deal at ABC Studios, has sold a TV version of the sci-fi thriller to CBS with a meaningful penalty. The news marks ABC Studios' first off-network sale of the development season.
Like the film on which it is based, the action/procedural follows three former federal agents who are part of a top-secret program. Each week, they'll use "Source Code" technology to jump into the consciousness of people involved in tragic events.
Gordon (Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds) will produce the project, with Vendome Pictures' Philippe Rousselet serving as a consulting producer. Steve Maeda (Lie to Me, Lost) is on board towrite.
This follows a flurry of development season deals for Gordon's company, including a contemporary Miami Vice-style crime drama Untouchable, a Crazy Stupid Love-esque emotional procedural Winging It and an adaptation of Candace Bushnell's One Fifth.[/release]

i dont know how to feel about this
That movie was good in my opinion, the end [sp]Where he chooses to die in real life and stay in the virtual world thing with the girl made me sad :([/sp] As for a show.... Don't drag it on and ruin it.
The movie was good, but I don't know how they're going to be able to keep the premise fresh as the series goes on.
Reminds me of this:

I think it could work. There's a new continuum created every time it ends and the main character could have a really hard time trying to tell apart reality from the source code. then maybe he'll ask himself "what is reality?" and some other philosophical stuff
Source code is a great movie but..
i don't know i hate it! not in the it's bad hate it, more on what it's like to be on the guy's (forgot his name) shoes
i loved the movie and was really longing to see more so i'm glad they are doing this.
Amazing concept and movie.

The ending confused me. [sp]He dies yet the alternate universe still exists? And he then Source Code never actually gets used? So many questions.[/sp]
I loved the movie. Though it would have been better if [sp]it ended when the "alternate universe" froze. The whole "the Source Code creates alternate universes" twist felt a little forced.[/sp]
Somehow I don't see this working at all as a TV show.
I loved the movie, however I don't know how long they can drag it out for series. Seems like a one hit wonder type movie.
I thought that chick was pretty, I bet she puts good aswell.
Movie was good even though the ending would never work even if the technology was real
When I saw the trailer for Source Code, I thought "Deja Vu".

[sp]Its not a virtual World, its a whole alternate reality, its explained in the movie.[/sp]
This sounds interesting, I may check it out once it airs.
Fun fact you probably all know: The director of Source Code is David Bowie's son.
The movie was fucking awesome. I was a bit surprised how [sp]the alternate world became his new reality[/sp]
I'm pretty curious how this tv series is going to take off. I will totally watch it.
I feel sorry for the poor bastard [sp]that he possessed and took the girl for himself.[/sp]
I don't think its gonna work.
The TV show starts in the alternate universe where the girl gives him HIV and leaves and he kills himself and can't die because he is already dead.
[editline]16th September 2011[/editline]
And apparently it bases around Source Code usage not the original protaganist. This might be interesting.
Criminal Minds is a pretty good show. Haven't seen the movie, but this might be one to watch.
The movie was ok. Kinda boring though. Go back in time over and over and then no real ending.

I always thought about that too. I mean [sp]what ever happened to that guy he took over? I mean arguably he wasn't even real... no one was. The universe became permanent when what's his name died in the starting reality... [/sp]
Wow, this thread is so brainfuck for me right now.
I liked the movie but i wonder how good this will work in a series.

Well he was going to die in 8 minutes anyway unless he got taken over.
