All five were rescued and no injuries were immediately reported. [...] Mr. Berthelet, 38, said he complimented the pilot on his landing. The pilot, he said, responded that it could have been a lot smoother.
It doesn't say he was 22 in the article, however WNBC (our local news) stated that. He is also extremely humble and badass and I want to shake his hand.
Kramer swam in the East River and he was fine... Kind of
When the US airliner crashed into the river, I recall they didn't know that the right engine was still attatched because the water is so murky:v:
I hope the helicopter is salvageable. :(
That place is like a bloody aircraft magnet
It's because there's no where else to put down an aircraft there without hitting a building. The only place is the river The 206 Jetranger is a beautiful helicopter, such a shame. Looks like it did alright and will fly again though
This river is magic, I swear.
I hope the helicopter is salvageable. :(
it is it has emergency floats that deploy when it detects water/ a switch is flipped to keep it floating.
it is it has emergency floats that deploy when it detects water/ a switch is flipped to keep it floating.
Ohh. Fancy!
Mr. Berthelet, 38, said he complimented the pilot on his landing. The pilot, he said, responded that it could have been a lot smoother.
That's the kind of shit people will read on Cracked in a hundred years.

Wow I didn't know those inflatable pontoons were even a thing. That is awesome.
The whole thing stank, but our noses had been in the cold too long
Gotta love the good ol' 206. They are great aircraft.
Gotta love the good ol' 206. They are great aircraft.
You're only saying that because you operate on them :v:
