Hershey's attempts to block the sale of Cadbury in New York - but here's why Cadbury tastes so much

Earlier this week US confectionery giant Hershey's declared legal war on its British counterpart for allegedly making their goods too similar to those favoured by American consumers.
British standards require that at least a fifth of sweet is cocoa solids, in America however, only 10 per cent of ingredient is needed in treats
US: 10 per cent cocoa solids
Britain: 20 per cent cocoa solids
US: South American beans
Britain: West African beans
US: Some goods contain the additive PGPR used as cheaper cocoa butter alternative
Generally, ingredients found in American chocolate bars are cheaper than those in British counterparts.
No wonder Hershey's tastes like shit. 10%!?!
I tried Hershey's when I was on a trip to the US and maybe I'm spoiled because of all the european chocolate I've been eating but Hershey's tastes like vaguely chocolate flavored dust and cardboard.
Cadbury is owned by Kraft (or whatever it is called nowadays) so I don't think they'll take this lying down.
Dairy milk is alright. I much prefer Galaxy though.
never got to try cadbury. I don't mind Hershey but you gotta keep eating it or else that godawful aftertaste will catch up to you

if you just treat it as chocolate flavoured 'candy' it's better.
I actually don't mind hershey's white chocolate since all white chocolate tastes the same
I haven't tasted either.

galaxy is too smooth and rich for me, although that cookie crumble one they made was fucking gold though
I'm going to be dead honest: I've never, ever had Cadbury's chocolate in my entire life. I love Hershey's, though.
I will be back later with a report on my Cadbury adventure, seeing as I am now interested in what Hershey's is attempting to stop.
I've had both, but too far between each other in time so I don't have any real personal comparison.
They sell both in Tesco, but Hershey's is always much more expensive because it's imported

Same with asda. I tried Hersheys once. It was alright, nothing exceptional.
The cadburys with oreo bits inside them is still my favorite chocolate bar to date.
Maybe it's just me being a cretin, but I prefer Hersheys/American over European chocolate.
The former has a more flat, palatable taste, while the latter just tasted like really rich and sugary dirt to me.

All of the companies involved are giant economic powerhouses. I, for one, am going to enjoy the legal fireworks :v:
I'm British and I actually really like Hersheys.

Since Dairy Milk was sold to the yanks its become pretty shit-tier, also i heard a load of drama about creme egg changes?
No wonder Hershey's flavor is so mild compared to other chocolates. I got some more expensive chocolate for the holidays and I was blown away by the flavor since I'm used to Hershey's.
I do know that those Lindt and Ferrero chocolates are really fucking good though, like waaaay better than Hershey's.

Yeah they changed them and they just don't taste as good as they used too.
I mean they are okay but certainly not as good as I remembered them. Although a few friends say they prefer the new ones. I guess it comes down to preference. :v:
Only 10% cocoa? Wow.
The best chocolate I've ever had was some fancy German brand with 75% cocoa. Fucking amazingly delicious.
My friend brought some hershey's kisses back from the US. They tasted of dirt and had an after taste of what I imagine someone farting in your mouth is like.

Try the Lindt ones:

Green & Blacks chocolate is nice too
I live in NY and the closest place I can get cadbury from is Toronto

hershey's sucks, dove (galaxy) is pretty good though
Hershey's is fucking trash. I vote we block their sale everywhere instead.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why English chocolate is so much better than what you usually get in America. As Englishmen it is our sworn duty to provide chocolate with a bare minimum of 20% cocoa solids, ensuring a good chocolatey taste and consistency for your sweet needs!
Accept no substitute, America! Let Great Britain satisfy the chocolate monster in you with the proper honest products that a chocolate lover deserves.

I'm guessing it's called Galaxy here since Dove is a brand of soap

Lindt is some of the best chocolate going imo. But then again I'm a massive chocoholic like Xubs so there's very little I don't like...

This stuff is awesome too!
dairy milk and galaxy are just amazing compared to the US brands you sometimes find floating around here
even the cheap chocolate you can grab in aldi is better than that
