Portal and Left 4 Dead co-writer Erik Wolpaw appears to be involved in Half-Life 3, alongside other notable Valve figures such as composer Kelly Bailey, level designer John Guthrie, and writer Marc Laidlaw.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Far Cry 2's Clint Hocking, who joined Valve last year following his departure from LucasArts, falls into the Left 4 Dead 3 team list alongside System Shock creator Doug Church, Guthrie, Wolpaw and his writing partner Chet Faliszek, artist Andy Nisbet, and other members of the Half-Life 3 team

I am glad Kelly Bailey is back for the music. hopefully this game is conformed this year/before summer
Is it really happening?
I sure hope valve doesn't conform to the standards of today's video games

also in the video they use black mesa footage under "Episode Two"
I hope they do something huge for Half Life 3 because after all this time and losing all my hype for half life 3 I need something to rebuild my lost of interest other than leaked details.
Need an amazing trailer

I would hope for it be longer than HL2 ( like an hour or so more longer/Extra)
People will be disappointed unless it is brainmeltingly awesome at this point.
My real hope is that HL3/Source 2 will keep modding alive in the future.
did they like just start in development or something
retain hype
Not exactly what I would call details, we still know nothing certain about the actual game it self or it's status.

they most likely been working on Source 2 and this on same time or something

It's probably been in development for years. They kept quiet to avoid binding their decisions with the public in case they wanted to change things drastically (which happens a lot in game development, as you scrap ideas altogether because they aren't good enough (and that also happened in HL1 if I remember correctly)). The fact that we're getting news on it means the game is probably set on stone/ready at some level.

I remember reading somewhere that's it's been in development hell, but the main issue was Mocap. Probably irrelevant now.
Man as soon as HL3 comes out I need to change my title to "Free half life 3 keys!" with this link.
Thank god no one knows where I live.[sp]iHope[/sp]
First there was the trademark, which is nothing interesting since you have to defend your trademark or lose it for abandonment. Now there's all this.
I want to believe, but I just can't.

breed the ultimate headcrab and then stick it in your friends' games for shits n gigs
I've been silently and patiently biding my hype; no need to expend it on silly rumors or trivial details like most people seem to have done. when valve officially announces something about it then I'll finally freak out
I can't wait until Valve officially conforms HL3!
How much do you want to bet that somewhere along the lines Valve had Half-Life 2: Episode 3 in the works but they decided to completely scrap it to just start working on HL3 for source engine 2?
Or maybe they might release Episode 3 that they have been working on for a longer time to keep us hype for HL3 that they started working on not to long ago?
Maybe I am just tired and have stupid ideas?
My hype has been drain for quite a while now. if this doesn't address Weather Control, Kraken Base, the Borialis, the helicopter ride to the north, and the choice of weather to destroy Aperture's tech or use it, then I'll be highly dissapointed that valve skipped ahead and turned episode 3 into vaporware.

Even if they got rid of HL2 EP3 in favor of HL3, chances are high that the first part of HL3 will continue where EP2 left off.

I remember reading somewhere that the game would start a good distance of time after EP2
Wish they'd just announce it instead of leaving everyone with this breadcrumb bullshit. It's just a shitty way to deal with your customers.

valve has always worked this way, they keep things to themselves to avoid as much public feedback as possible in order to keep their focus on track is what I am guessing. It's worked out for a long time, it just sucks for the public until they are finally ready to show something worth while.

i hope it's based in the middle east and is a third person based cover shooter with 3 color choices at the end of the game
also the combine are russians
This makes me moist.

They can not control people to nitpick every stone they find.
