If I had the money I would get a PS3 just for this game.
I hope they don't pull another Indigo Prophecy. It started out good with a good idea, but then "LOL matrix rip off fight scenes, wooo look at this action, omg purple clan AI, watch out woah! The hobos were actually a fighting force!"
Sounds like a pain in the ass if you are trying to get a certain trophy.
You could end up completely ignorant if you had done the task right or not, just to find out that you had failed AFTER you finish an entire chapter of the game.

They should have an option to toggle this, and as they keep adding more options they should add like a menu in our profile editing area for this kind of stuff.
That's pretty neat.

I hate achievement/trophy collectors. Just play the game; enjoy.
Especially with a game like this, anywho. I can see replaying something like Modern Warfare 2 for the achievements, but replaying this is like watching a movie 5 times.

It's completely against the point of this game though. If you are trying to play it for a trophy, you are playing it for all the wrong reasons.
I'm all for this idea, since the thick atmosphere in this game is one of its largest selling points to me.

"Hate to rain on the PS3 party, but 2010?"
what?

also this isn't really a new thing, a few other games don't let you know of trophies until after the scene or level finishes

I do that.

But if the story has all the different options to change the entire course of the story, I'll want to play it 5 times.
Big fucking deal
So is this game gonna be big or what?

The story is Dynamic, if the character you're playing dies, the rest of the story adapts. The choices you make will change the story, so two playthroughs won't be the same.
I kinda hope that if you fuck up you can have the option of trying again or going on through.
Can't wait for this game, also, if your character dies from what I understand, the game continues and that character remains dead.

Unless you manage to pull off a mirror of the previous play through :v:
I'm sure a couple of other games have used a similar system where trophy reporting is delayed until a certain point. But that could just be the PSN servers giving birth with the stress.

Linger in Shadows and i believe Flower let you know you've unlocked trophies once you finish a level/chapter.
it's kind of obnoxious, really, as it makes it impossible to know if you've unlocked something or fucked up. i see the appeal in having it delayed to the end for both Heavy Rain and Linger in Shadows, but it'd be nice to have an optional setting in the menu for that.
