are we still expecting NK to actually be a real threat to anyone other than itself?

The worst they could do is fire a missile at, say, the US, the missile gets shot down because how could it not, and then the US gets pissed and mauls NK's finest brainwashed men.

you realize there's an incredibly westernized nation, one of our biggest allies, within 150 miles of north korea, right? a nation that NK has a massive grudge with?

The US is very much safe from NK missiles but there are plenty of enemies of NK right next door.

Japan and South Korea are at a serious risk and the closer they get to legitimate nuclear warheads is terrifying.
