the visuals look so polished and professional and then everything else looks like an absolute mess
Played it for about 15 minutes and got bored Its pretty much Skyrim with MMO elements and less freedom
Honestly having played more of the story it gets very interesting, obviously I cant say how but it does have some serious impact. And believe me I'm surprised to be saying this after playing the other elder scrolls games.
Zenimax Online didn't even bother to make a new HUD, they just took it from Skyrim. Top quality product.
Looks beautiful, however I'm still very hesitant

Something feels off with the visual style, like they tried to bring back some of Morrowind's character art style, however, it still looks very polished. However, the game looks boring as hell.
I was invited to play, and I was going to. When I started the downloader, it took 20 to 30 minutes to load 1%, so I said fuck it. Seems like I'm not missing a lot.
Down already, damn.
Down already, damn.
Not really just a private video
Does no one read the NDA they make you sign? Or in the emails that stated you aren't allowed to do this kind of crap? Also keep in mind its a beta stress test, a lot of the content is still place holders.
I just wait for when ever a online appears for skyrim, it won't be an mmo, but probably co-op
So I played on this beta, a stress test, and a second beta for this game. I'll just give you my first impressions. Character creation is very minimal. It's definitely not on par with Skyrim, and definitely not on par with any other MMO currently out there. It's in beta, but whatever. Combat doesn't feel as good as any Elder Scrolls games. There's absolutely no point in having a dodge key as you'll just stand still, hit, and block per usual (even as a Rogue class). It's very generic, and even if you do use the dodge key you'll pretty much get hit due to poor desync issues. Doesn't even feel like the "action combat" they were trying to advertise. Tried 3 classes. Rogue was very light and you couldn't do anything Rogue-ish during the beta (the skill level cap is 20 I believe). All your moves were just basic damage moves without anything to really set you apart. Mage I didn't get much time with during the stress test, but it felt extremely overpowered as everything I touched just disintegrated. You keep almost all your mana too, and you're heavily reliant on it, but it almost never runs out. Warrior is just that. A warrior. You have a pull, a taunt, and damage dealing moves. Nothing special about him. The graphics are very pretty, but they definitely won't match up when other things come out (Hell, FF:ARR already beats their graphics in that respect). A lot of the world's textures were piss-poor at times though, and during a combined time of all 3 of my playthroughs, I fell through the world twice.I wasn't teleported above either. I had to reset the game and fiddle my way back into the world with each reset. The quest system is generic, and there is absolutely nothing that sets it apart. You go to a person, get a quest, kill some mobs or go into a dungeon, kill more mobs, and leave. I never fought a boss once during any of my playthroughs so I'm not sure how far you'd need to be for that, or if it even is in the beta. All in all, the game has absolutely nothing going for it unless you just like the feel of Elder Scrolls. For $15 a month though + around a $40 base price for the game, I can't recommend it at all.
I know it's just a stress test or whatever, but it's so sad to watch this still going through when half of the people watching it grow knew it was going to be rotten from the very start. That being said, after reading above about quests from the posts above, that seals the deal that I won't give this a try. One of the best parts of Elder Scrolls games was that each quest usually had some kind of "story" to keep it interesting, no matter how small it is. I'd hate to see that devolve into "kill this many creatures, etc".
i think we should just all agree to never make MMO games again
