Actually, when coming up with the voice for Duke Nukem, 3D Realms told him to do something like Clint Eastwood. Unsatisfied, they told him to drop the tone, thus creating the Duke Nukem voice.
Old but I still love it. His Mister Burns and Smithers impression near the end is priceless.
